This whole series is like a time capsule from another age. About ten years ago, to be exact. You got people with now-defunct channels and others who no longer work together in their glory days. Plus a dead person or two. Not to mention people who are now older and different than they used to be. Its a video about nostalgia that is also nostalgic. Ironic, no?

I love galaga so much. It was the first video game where the music could get stuck in my head. Its instant nostalgia for the old bar my best friends step dad used to own and hed sometimes let us play the galaga game for free for an hour before he opened up for the day. Or the old pool hall a few doors down where wed go sometimes that had the table top version.

Super interesting look at stuff that was a bit before my time but still was recent enough that growing up I would frequently come across these things as hand me downs and what not. As young kid obsessed with gaming in the late 80s I would spend hours puzzling out stuff like Yar's Revenge and Wizardry. Meanwhile these days I'm working on the back half of my 30s and still find myself endlessly fascinated with gaming in all forms, contemporary or old school, but at least have a bit of a budget to indulge in all the things I wanted as a child.

One of my favorite LA Comic Con memories is attending Keith Robinson's Blue Sky Rangers panel with the OG Intellivision programmers/creators... sometimes it really pays to check out the less popular panel rooms at cons after the big ones are capped off. RIP Keith!
