There's a magic moment in this video (around 3:33 ) when Calabria Foti's trombone virtuoso husband Bob McChesney begins a solo that only he could play: His wife, her eyes closed, a soft smile of appreciation for the man she loves - members of the 17 piece Reno jazz band intent on hearing every note, smiling in rapt silence - and, so moved by what they're hearing, spontaneously applaud! (Wish I'd been there! ) I'm so partial to this song - one my parents danced, and fell in love-to - composed by English band leader Ray Noble (who had several great hits for which he wrote both words & music). I'm partial as well to Calabria Foti - to my ears the finest living singer. Her videos are so rare, I cherish this one, seeing it now for very the first time - even allowing for sonic limitations of a non-studio recording, with ambient reverberation from those bare walls. Yes, I'm straight-to-the-heart touched by a great singer performing 'live' maybe the best British song ever included in the 'Great American Songbook.' So glad you found the video and commented. Calabria and Bob are a great musical couple.

This is very good, and could be imagined as popular in a widespread way in earlier times of better jazz appreciation, sales, notice, stature. All the professional qualities are top class, with balance, taste, reserve.
