Its austin, a british manufacturer. How is it a BMW?
The BMW Dixi was an Austin Seven made under licence. Holden in Australia, Rosengart in France and I think an outfit called Bantam in the US did the same.

Bantam of course later went on to build the first Jeep prototype. Additionally the early Datsun cars were unofficially based on the Austin Seven. Austin Seven was very influential car!
