The Very Best of UK Steam Trains on the Mainline in 2023! Part 1 - January to June

The first half of 2023 has been pretty busy for steam trains out and about on the mainline. Ranging from Flying Scotsman celebrating her 100th Birthday celebrations, the return to service of Tyseley Castle no. 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe, and the first mainline runs of LNER A4 no. 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley in her lovely BR Blue livery. There were also some historic moments during the first half of 2023. Flying Scotsman hauled The Royal Duchy on her own in April, 7029 Clun Castle hauling a train up the Settle and Carlisle Line for the first time since 1967 and a double Castle pairing up the famous Lickey Incline for the first time in steam preservation. Also featuring was 45596 Bahamas tackling the Devon Banks as well as the Great Britain, 45562 Alberta on her western ventures in February, 46115 Scots Guardsman on a rare visit to Stratford-upon-Avon and a glimpse of 61306 Mayflower at speed.
As always a big thanks to all the operators and volunteers for their relentless effort which without wouldn't make this video possible. Also, A big thanks to all my subscribers and viewers for your comments and support throughout the year, you guys have been so supportive and generous. Let's hope that the second part of 2023 is as good. I hope you guys love the video.

idk much about trains but do you need to pay a premium when you ride them as regular trains? or are they only part of heritage railways?

@@ravjayakodi2746we have heritage railways where they run smaller trains at low speeds but they also offer like railtours on the mainline so it’ll take you for example from london to york and back in a day and you pay for the experience more than the ride

Though used to seeing steam trains most of my life, I still can't get over the huge power available just by boiling some water! Magnificent engineering, and a wonderful sight.

Galatea is the Jubilee engine's true name, her number is 45699. At the moment, very annoyingly, Galatea is still in a mixed lost engine name and number scheme. She is still wearing Alberta on one side and Sierra Leone on the other, meaning mixed identity crisis. The sooner she gets her true identity back, the happier we will all be. Loved seeing the steam engines all the same. Let's hope Galatea will retrieve her true identity before more rumors start spreading.

You know and I know what the jubilee loco 45699 IS. The owner may paint it in pink and orange stripes if he likes as far as I am concerned as long as he maintainers it in good running order ( an extremely expensive hobby I'm sure ) for us all to see working.

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10 1 John 1 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us. Jesus answered, John 14:6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 The rapture is imminent!
