2/3/2022 I'm sitting here listening to music I loved back some 63 years ago, and except for a few, I remember them all. They were my favorite band and I had every album they made until around 1969. The last one, I believe, had a cover of "Mighty Quin", one of the only albums where they actually had some vocals. So many great hits, so many great covers, and so many great memories Rip Don Wilson, thanks for all the great music. ;-)

Thanks to the Japanese whose idolization of the Ventures in those years 60's and on... kept them boys on their toes! Some of the best live concerts ever. But now discovering what the Ventures have done even while less popular in the West, just blows my mind. They deserve a place in the rock world, at the top.

Nokie and the boys! Great stuff,Great memories!
Mel Taylor invented rock drumming. His influence is still heard in metal.
They captured the spirit of the times.
un très bond groupe que j,ai connue dans les années 80
Ban nhạc quá huyền thoại đã đi vào tuổi thơ của tôi một thời.
While I was a Japanese performance of ventures personally, live broadcasting in 1967, 1972 and 1974 was most well-made. A stage performance in this 1981. It's best in the United States.
RIP I recognize some of that, good stuff.
Great shot Great musiciens best instrumental
Love the "Twang" of the guitar..
Ik - 17/02/949 - heb ooit een optreden van hun gezien in enschede ( het Volkspark ) echt dat vergeet ik nooit weer!

Saw the Ventures 5 years ago for the second time. Nokie Edwards was 81 years old, you wouldn't know it by his guitar playing, amazing. Saw them the first time in 1970. Got a picture shaking hands with Bob Bogle, what a treasure.
Goosebumps.
nokie plays fender tele,, its my dream guitar
Brings back 😎 memories driving down the strand in my girlfriend mustang convertible ✌️
Speaking of 1981, my work was so busy that listening to music was the only way to listen to radio in a commuter car. The members at this time are almost changed now, but they are always fresh. I'm really thankful to you.
I was home in the Linda Ronstadt property in 1981 with my new wife, due to give birth to # 1 daughter Paris Roberts........Robb Lawrence calls and tells me he's commin' over to get me for a surprise................GoGo's @ the Starwood........VENTURES will close the show....had not played in the USA for over 10 years..........I have been friends of theirs ever since.....I did meet NOKIE & Don @ Antonio's Pizza on Woodman & Vent Blvd in 1977....I asked when they will play the USA........I was aware of all the years in Japan from June to October every year........
Pure genius
So we all pretty much agree Nokie Edwards is the greatest guitarist of all time?

To tell the truth, I forgot how much I dug the Ventures.

In seventies I owned Ventures LP record 75 RPM I had Sterio set in Bombay India 🇮🇳 I was just 22 yrs old now I am grand father living in USA
these guys were the best wishing a happy retirement to don the only original member left
Ventures so finest
Excellent .
ME GUSTA ESTA MÚSICA DE ÉSTE GRUPO TAN ESPECIAL Y EN VIVO SE APRECIA UN EXCELENTE ACOPLAMIENTO Y AGRADABLE AL OÍDO, BUENO AL MENOS AL MIO....GRACIAS POR COMPARTIR
otra entre las 10 mejores
Way back in 1970s these were cinema screen opening pieces.Lots of Indian film background guitar pieces were just copied from Ventures
How the Ventures sounded this good live on stage with no special effects is beyond me. These guys are absolute pros. Are there any other groups able to do this? I don't think so..
Burt Reynolds played awesome guitar!
I was missing Max Weinberg as guest drummer for Wipe Out.
Musica instrumental de qualidade.
Listen this music..bring all my memories..in movie..film cowboy...thanks youtube..

Gracias.
Mel Taylor never received due credit. I assume that was because he didn't play for Led Zep or some other "name band," but his timing, versatility, and drive were impeccable. And the older he got the more creative he got.
Funny how Nokie Edwards play his guitar almost static all the time, while most guitarrists keep shaking instead.
