New players looking good; I didn't see too many idle units!

I will be the first to admit I don't have the micro for multi-player, but splitting the dragon ogres from kholek (so he didn't have additional mass to pin targets for him to beat) and allowing the sorcerer to get got (in a trade attempt for the corpse cart) were some major mistakes made early on. If Hayseed had his caster around in the late game that would have been game changing. IMO Kholek and his offspring should be kept as one goon squad targeting ground based targets, with an eye left for targets of opportunity, and that sorcerer play early on was fantastic. Great game overall though, and I really like that the black knights are actually seeing some use! For a long time they seemed to have absolutely no point in the roster due to how points inefficient they were.

Yeah, I wasn't used to facing Wight Kings so I didn't realize he could take out my sorcerer so fast. That played a huge role in my decision to target the corpse cart instead. I definitely could have microed the dragon ogres better as well, but part of the reason they got stuck out on their own was that I couldn't get them to path out of the middle fight. Once I saw the collapse heading their way I decided that it was too late and didn't want to risk Kholek on a fight that already looked lost. Kholek also had some blood dragons to finish off before they could escape to get healed, which seemed like a good use for him at the time. You are correct though, these two mistakes almost certainly cost me the game after such a promising start. Great feedback, especially from someone who claims not to have the micro for multi-player.

god i love watching new player tourney games for the builds alone. It gets so tiring to see the same builds over and over, then you see the new player builds looking like this. it s just so much more fun

Sick game

What having no anti-large outside a very expensive non ap cav unit, a very weak chaf unit and a very fragile monster does to a faction. They should give VCs a hallberd Grave Guard in an update, just how they gave dwarfs Giant Slayers for free.

Kholek is getting closer to being good. Still expensive but improving his self-buffs and giving him a decent WS is a good start. Granted he needs exceptional WS to be a worthwhile pick given he's just a beatstick. CA lowballed the conservative suggestions in the balance doc so they might give him another pass (same for the Shaggoth which at 560 is still pretty lame for a 2k beatstick). Frankly I'd argue he needs a solid 700 WS to be worthwhile at his price but the doc suggestions were an even 100 and CA went with 60. Still really nice to see CA at least giving a look to some of the older duelist lords, even if most dedicate duelists (old and new) could use a WS or MS bump.

Dont know why you would ever bring Kholek without a nurgle healing sorcerer tbh.

Yeah, these alpha strikes aren't that valuable if your opponent can get away and recover the damage. WoC player gained nothing from that engagement, really. Perhaps if the slaanesh sorcerer had been protected better, Kholek could have killed the DragVampLord
