I have 6 Disney VHS videos still sealed in original plastic, I have Fantasia, Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, Pinocchio, Cinderella, and Aladdin. They all have a black diamond with the words "The classics" written in it. Are they worth mutch?

Oh the reason I have them is my mom bought VHS DIsney videos for the Grand kids to watch, but never got around to opening most of them. I have a lot of other Disney VHS too, but the plastic is off and they were probably played once or twice at most.

Great, and it doesn't surprise me at all that it sold for that amount. I'm a reseller myself and I've told people that physical media isn't going anywhere at all. I sell Blu-ray, DVDs, CDs, Videogames, Cassette Tapes, and even 8 Track Tapes for money. The thing is you can of course get most of them for almost free and still sell most of them for $5 to $20 dollars or even more. I've had a few hundred dollar VHS tapes sell for that amount.

Kevin we rented the VHS player too! They were crazy expensive back then. We would get it from this Ma and Pa video movie rental store and we kids loved picking out the movies to watch. There was no Blockbuster then! When my Mom finally bought a VHS player it was $800! 😮 Crazy! I miss the Blockbuster days of perusing all the movies, buying overpriced candy and popcorn, and seeing all the people in there on Friday night! Lol It was so fun! I would never return my movies on time though and had to pay the late fees! 😅

Impressive video! I also caught the VHS bug in 2021 and have since dedicated numerous hours to my research. One significant realization I made is the absence of a definitive guide on the subject. Instead, I discovered that the most reliable information could be gleaned from studying the tumultuous home entertainment industry of the 1980s and 1990s. It was a truly chaotic era, marked by mergers, acquisitions, separations, lawsuits, and shady dealings. It seemed like nearly every studio and distribution company was intertwined at some point or another. Consequently, with each change came new iterations of company names and logos, which necessitated alterations on the actual tapes themselves. This process typically occurred rapidly. By familiarizing oneself with this rich history, identifying the initial releases-often the most sought-after ones-becomes a relatively easier task.

As a former vcr repairman in the 1990s I never understood the collecting of video tapes, tapes by nature degrade even if it's never played, they are magnetic with metal and that metal for lack of a better term "falls off the tape" I remember years ago when people were collecting old 8-track music tapes, once again they will degrade over time, I just could never justify spending that kind of money on video tapes. But to each his own, your video was a fun watch.

As I was packing them up I noticed a few of the ones on the top 10 list in this video, like top gun and the thing and maybe rocky. Is there any value to these movies if they are not sealed? My uncle was definitely a horror fan because I noticed a lot from that genre. I also remember packing up around a dozen sealed movies but I didn't pay much attention to what they were. Wondering what to do with all these vhs movies. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks
