The rulers of ancient Egypt were buried in the Valley of the Kings during the reigns of the 18th to 20th Dynasty.
The first pharaoh to be buried there was Tuthmosis I, and the last was Ramses XI.
Until now, sixty-four completed tombs have been discovered, as well as over twenty where work has been stopped. Most of them were looted back in ancient times.
