I worked with a woman from my church to help her go through her late husbands gun room. In his gun collection, he had an 1897 trench shotgun and a Winchester M1917, and a Remington 1917 Bayonet. She sold the shotgun at a gun show and told me the rifle and blade had been sold. Well last Christmas, and for my college graduation, my parents had purchased the rifle and bayonet for me. I have a remarked U.S. British blade made 10/16.

Great video! Brought back the memory of a WW2 era Winchester 1897 shotgun I owned that was arsenal refurbished for WW2 and the bayonet, which was a British made bayonet with the UK markings "x"ed out and US markings, the scabbard was a US style green leather scabbard with the M1910 hooks. I sold it to a collector in Texas for a pretty penny, but it still lives in the list of guns and gear I wish I never sold. At the time, of course, I was in the gun selling business, not the gun keeping business. I really enjoyed this one, drive on Airborne!

The ones used by the British home guard sometimes have the fitting for the m1910 fastener ground off to fit in the 39 patt frog.there is also a south African version with smooth grips and a 12in blade, produced by AECO.

Mine is a repurposed British blade. Weird though that there's no clearance hole

I have a Remington 1917 and I'm assuming a later green scabbard. Instead of MG it has M6 and the inspection mark has DEWELL 1918.
