The US Built A New Submarine The World Is Afraid Of
While nuclear power seems for many to be a fairly modern innovation, research on nuclear marine propulsion started way back in the 1940’s. In fact, the first nuclear-powered submarine took its maiden voyage in 1955. Since then, the tech, range, power and capabilities of these nuclear vessels have improved exponentially. So, what is the latest in the world of nuclear-powered marine vessels and what can we predict on the horizon?
In this episode we are going to learn all about the latest generation of nuclear-powered ships and take a guess on what leaps we’ll make in the future.
So, let’s get into it!

    All the subs are impressive technology, but being afraid of any of them seems a bit pointless, as the various great powers who can afford them already have the power many times over to destroy cities of millions and in a few cases, the planet. We've long since given up fearing what we cannot control, and no one really expects anyone to fire missiles to conquer a country and then come knocking on our doors.

    Lol for real, My dad was head of the warhead development on the sidewinder for over 30 years. He saw it through most generations. It was first built in a garage by engineers in our hometown. He worked on it from 1982 to 2014. It still holds the highest "effective" rating of any air to air missile by a decent amount. One of a few missiles that can pull over 10G turns at maximum airspeed.

  • @friendsofdickjones6266

    @friendsofdickjones6266

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@JaegerWrenching The Soviets built thier very first air to air Infra Red Seeking Missile named Vympel K-13. NATO Designation "AA2 ATOLL" IT was reversed engineered when in 1958 a Group of Taiwanese F-86 Sabres squared off AGAINST some Chinese PLAAF MiG-17s. One of the Sabres Sidewinder ended up jammed in one of the MiGs Fuselage and returned to Base. The Soviets begged Red China for it and were eventually given to Moscow. AA2 ATOLL first went into service in 1961 but, it took several years to reverse engineer a workable copy that was as good as the AIM 9 Sidewinder. 11 years to make it almost equal to the original. The Vympel K-13 (NATO reporting name: AA-2 "Atoll") is a short-range, infrared homing air-to-air missile developed by the Soviet Union. It is similar in appearance and function to the American AIM-9 Sidewinder from which it was reverse-engineered.
