You certainly do such a wonderful job of picking out great books as well as condensing everything down to a 10 - 15 minute posting. I don't know how you do it, it's got to be a gift from God, it appears that so many Catholics very much appreciate your channel. Even if I don't get a chance to read some of these books, you always provide us with the most essential information we need to learn from them.

Wow, I like the insight about living in a defensive way always trying to avoid suffering. I adapted this to western life where literal starvation and physical oppression is relatively non existent so we are not avoiding suffering as much as we fear being without pleasure or falling into boredom. Another great insight is how identifying with success will lead to failure because of an egotistical perspective. Any "victory" or spiritual success is a grace from God. I may have to read this book, thank you for the upload Elisabeth and God bless you.

I loved this book when I read it a year or two ago. Tbh, I personally did not care much for the one that so many people love: Maintaining Peace by Fr. Philippe. Amazing that the army would utilize this book!!! That’s truly wonderful - the Holy Spirit truly does work in mysterious and wondrous ways!😊🕊

Yes! Most of my women friends loved it. I don’t dislike it; it just didn’t impress me. Btw I think you didn’t like the book on the Life of St. Joseph by Sr. Cecilia Baij very much. It is one of my most favorite Catholic books ever. You might want to read it again some years down the road. A couple of my women friends the first time they read it didn’t care much for it, but rereading it some years later absolutely loved it. 😍

@@BiblicalBookworm Yes! And shows just how "real" their marriage was. How their marriage was a union of their wills (they both wanted God's Will), a union of hearts - they had great affection and esteem for one another, a union of minds - they were of one mind, one heart, one soul. AND their marriage also had the "physical," it was also sensory which I had never thought of before I read the book. Joseph loved to hear his bride's voice, he loved to be in Her presence... It really brings their relationship to life. Very human as well as very holy.

This sounds like a really excellent book Elisabeth! The question of freedom is a very interesting one. As I was listening to your review I kept thinking about the old question of freedom from something verses freedom for something. I wonder if freedom for something (or Some One) is the way God works in us to mold us and shape to become what He wants us to be. This type of freedom if guided by God can be transformative. Anyway, once again thank you for your excellent content! God be with you always! 😀🙏

Interesting idea, could be, although I can't really imagine how freedom is a particularly suitable tool to transform someone. From my understanding, spiritual transformation happens through more "harsh" means like the dark night of the soul. God bless you! 😊🙏

I suppose I'm referring to the potter and the clay in Isaiah 64:8. God as the potter molds us to be the type of 'pot' He wants us to be. Freedom here is allowing ourselves to be shaped by God. This doesn't mean God can use 'harsh' measures if needed. Hope this makes sense. God Bless🙏 @@BiblicalBookworm

Jesus in the Life and Revelations of St. Margaret of Cortona recommends no longer affixing your face with art if receiving Holy Communion in His Church (in the modern parlance, wearing makeup). I would highly recommend it, both the book, and the giving up of too much makeup as it is unbecoming for church ladies. Dear Jesus The Holy Infant Jesus of Prague, please bless her. Thank You.

Elisabeth isn't even wearing a lot of makeup, which it seems like you're passively aggressively trying to say. Let's remember who is called "the accuser" and not follow him.

@@1901elina To me that's a lot of makeup. I don't wear any at all and I would highly recommend it, along with the Radiating Christ Prayer, prayed daily... then all the beauty is the beauty of Christ, which is the best adornment for Christian Ladies. It's better to just do whatever He tells you, as Mary says and remember her and keep her in your mind instead of thinking about the Devil. God bless.
