The Urgent Need For Order | Harari & Bartlett on 'The Diary of a CEO' podcast

Why are there so many wars and conflicts breaking out around the world? Populist leaders like Donald Trump have rejected the idea of global order and openly stated that they only care about their own nation. But without offering an alternative way of managing the relations between nations, the world falls inevitably into disorder.

Much obliged to you, Mr. Harari. Everyone over the world wants one thing. Everyone. Cares from the others. But everyone fears the others. But please have courage to have compassion for the others and become happy yourself. Peace is that one conscience meets another conscience. Peace is the connection, all giving cares to each other, kind words and smiles everyday. -from Japan.

It was all built on fossil fuels. There's a growing realization that there is no Fossil Fuels Fairy refilling the holes. Russia alone has 20% of exportable oil along with large deposits of the metals needed for electrification. Europe has little to no fossil fuels and metals. Fossil Fuels usage is 98% correlated with GDP. Materials 100%.

The problem with the existing "order" was that it was based on the hegemony of one superpower. And it was naive to assume that other powerful states would be content with that permanently. What was realistic was to take early steps to prevent the violent destruction of the existing system of international relations. There was not the slightest attempt at such preventive activity.

BRICS is a type of order, not disorder. However, it is not subservient to the West, so the West complains of the loss of the "rules-based order." Also, when you talk about an era of peace, I must ask: "Peace for whom?" Not for the victims of US/NATO aggression (e.g. Libya). Not for Africa and the Global South, both of which were subjected to US/Western aggression and exploitation. Saying the rules-based order "wasn't perfect" is quite an understatement.

I think Yuval is giving Trump too much credit; he doesn't care about his country, he doesn't care about his family. He only cares about himself.

Because you only care about yourself, you only care about your family, and your country. Because of that, You doesn't care about the other family and the other country. This is the first move to conflict. Even though family, state or even religion have no objective basis in biology, chemistry or physics. However, this intersubjective reality is often the cause of conflict. but it's okay, and thats why the world doesn't work according to my wishes😂

I think the point is that's what Trump and other leaders like him (Putin, Erdogan, Orban, Netanyahu, Milei etc) are saying, and how they get people to vote for them and the policies that result from that, it doesn't matter so much if he's being honest, in most cases these are demagogues who only care about themselves

@@mfre897they should check their heads then. Trump is still an antidemocratic demagogue who cares 0% about anyone else other than himself and would rip the country and its democracy and the rest of the world to shreds if it serves him best. The alternative isnt great but the fact Trump's demagoguery has gotten normalised is probably the most alarming thing for the US' democracy, i say this as an outside observer who only cares about avoiding WW3

and this is better than world war three coming with it . I think there is no need for urgent order but we can change ourselves according to our law . and human needs , facilities ,companionship , moral, and values etc. which should be included in human and nation rights .based on right we can work together not based on order . If we can not find a source we can get help from religion and wisdom and this is the only way to bring peace and justice .
