The Uptowner Oldest Bar in Milwaukee - History and Tour

The Uptowner Bar in Milwaukee Wisconsin has been slinging drinks since 1884, that's when it was opened by Schlitz to serve its beer. "Tied" houses like this (saloons built to just serve one beer) were common up til prohibition, and they were certainly common in Milwaukee. The Uptowner is one of the last remaining historic bars left in the city, and the oldest continuous one to boot. Definitely put this place on your list of sights to see when you visit.

Ah, I spent the early 2000's at the Uptowner. Lots of great folks go there and lots of losers, too.

Yeah that's true - still that way - but overall it's a great place!
