I think it is very smart and witty & well she may not be the most sympathetic person around I do think she’s basically kind and wouldn’t hurt anybody intentionally. I like her. And I think if you do your job you’ll get along fine with her, that’s all she expects.

I don’t like her at all. She is a bully. Telling someone who doesn’t want to be in a boat that they have to leave now. Playing a song outside the person’s room, and laughing about it. Like the bully that she is. Malicious. She is just Unprofessional. With a fake persona. Yuck. I’m sure when she is hurting she is a baby, poor me. But when others hurt? She does not give a flying fuck. Even soldiers have more heart in the battle field. I hope someone ignores her, and bullies her in the future so she feels the same pain, and finally realizes, Oh? This is what it feels like? No mercy for her.

I would feel the same. She was out of control after that huge woman dry humping her every two minutes... you could tell she wasn’t really in to it... after that she was overly bitter and really very nasty. That who ending of Carolyn’s was just terrible - I don’t think Joshua would have done that without Kate’s evil streak. So spiteful. I’d have just pushed her overboard 😂.

She is the only reason I watch the show. I am sorry to hear she is leaving. I find her so smart, funny, and interesting enough to have her own show.

I always loved how she could say what the food was and spoke it well to the clients.

I love Kate's snark. I'm not sure I'd want to work under her, but with her would be a blast. Anyone remember 2nd stew Josh? I expected to hear more from him. Kate doesn't seem ready to quit, unlike Hannah. I bet Kate ends up on another show. The tension with her and Ben was great.

Hannah was fired by captain Sandy having Valium and a vap for weed! Never liked Hannah

i respect her work ethic far more than hannah, hannah can't seem to maintain a professional role, she's too emotional. Kate is a boss, not a friend. I appreciate that line. And she's honest, she'll tell it to you straight if you ask.

I wish she wouldn't leave the show but she would make a great OG of her own show because she is awesome, I love her humor and her sarcastic sarcasm when she talks to peopleand she is funny as hell. . Omg yes bring it on a new show . They can call it the secret lives of Kate and Halo 😇 . Who agrees with me on this one?

So glad to hear that Kate is pregnant now, i’m happy for her since she said it’s something she’s always wanted. She’s not naming the father and says she will be raising the child on her own. I wish her and Ben could’ve made it work with each other, but I’m sure he will remain in her life as a friend.

Kate was my favorite out of all the below decks. Rachel was a bad ass chef but kooky at times. Lee.. top notch. Id like to create the perfect dream team for yachting, from my favorite picks from the shows based on performance and attitude. Captain Sandy turned out to be bomb diggity, too.

At first, I didn’t care for her. But having watched several seasons, she is a hard working employee expecting the same from her crew. Too many of her underlings have really poor work ethic. It’s a hard job; not a vacation.

Glad she won't be on anymore!

I stopped watching the show because I couldn't stand her and how everyone was so scared of her and that's even including Captain Lee. I guess I can start watching it again.

I love Kate Chastain….she seems just herself…No BS…The other chief stew, Hannah, I never felt like she was for real and was hiding things…I literally LOVE Captain Lee…He’s a very kind and loyal person

Wow. Talk about a white wash. Can you imagine what would hit the fan if a male cast member was charged with criminal assault and not fired? Absolutely unbelievable.

God I wish I were younger I would work for Captain Lee, or Captain Sandy. In a heart beat.

The very first episode of Below Deck that I watched was with Kate & her 'font' personalities she assigned to her co-workers. She had me from then on. She is bright, creative, witty & sharp-tongued when needed. I would never want to get on her bad side, but only because she is probably a really devoted friend. Kate-fave Chief Stew; Captain Lee-fave captain; Ben-hands down favorite chef!!

Very good at Stewarding but an absolute abysmal Manager! At times, it was like watching mean girls! Love Capt Lee and his lovely wife!

Kate please come back we miss you

I really like Kate better than Jessica and Adrienne Gang, actually, Adrienne was the WORST of all

Say what you want about her but she was damn good at her job. Details where her thing and she knew how to be a leader. She could have been a little better with her delivery and not so catty but she did what had to be done every time

She is not a good leader, good trainer or in general a good person.

I hated her untill season 5 when she dressed up Captain Lee in the Polynesian outfit and had hula dancers... She told Bruno to go talk to captain lee, he wants to know what he would have done better... Brunos face was priceless

She quit then quarantine hit she's posted up at her parents house in Florida now lol

Watching an older episode of the show kate is nothing but a drama queen , your her enemy if you dont kiss her butt , all she is is a waitress on a yacht , and didnt do that very well either , ugh

Kate wasn't a favorite of mine at all. She treated some of her co workers like shit.

She is and was the best first stewardess. I like her❤️

I feel like the laundry is the same as cosmetologist and perms , they made us do it over and over and over but when we stopped we missed it so much lol

I love Kate, I hope she does one more season. I just started watching below deck two season ago and Kate is hands down my favorite. She doesn’t put up with anyone’s sh!t and she’s amazing at her job.

BELOW DECK- FAVORITE Season: 6 & 3 WORST Season: 7 !!!! (HATED season 7) BELOW DECK MED- FAVORITE Season: 4 & 3 WORST Season: So far 5. But it's a little too soon to tell. I might need to give it a chance. But it's between season 5 & 2.

Roe was always disgusting. I have no idea what Kate ever saw in her.

As a big fan of below deck been watching since the beginning with captain Lee and Kate ur the best chief stew I have ever watched. Luv your vibe and energy u have, and if no one liked it oh well u were being your true self. I am going to miss seeing u on the shows but at some point we get tired and want to try new things in our life. Wish you the best in your future take care. Luv u 💓

Totally agree. And, to be honest, in my opinion she is too old now to be a good fit for strenuous stew duties (she used to pitch in while governing) and 20-yr-old partying. Educating & stepping up into chef or captain would have saved yachting for her, but as chief stew she's done.

She is a bully, can't believe she got away with it, I would not want to work for her... Sorry to all her fans but this behaviour is not right, funny or not. I think they call it passive aggressive.

Reality TV is not reality, Do you really think there are cameras on the cast for each cast member 24/7? We, the viewers, are presented with a version of the truth. I don't care; I love the show, but I am concerned about the repercussions on the cast beyond the broadcasts of the episodes/seasons. RealityTV is not reality, it is packaged for unreality entertainment; you either accept it or not.

Agreed. More importantly, the producers choose the cast, so of course you're going to get some deeply flawed people, a few of which who are destined to implode at some point.

I actually ended up in the background of a reality show that filmed at my workplace and firstly they used the smallest fraction of the footage they filmed, and second, you're right. They literally invent a storyline. They made it appear that two of my teammates were in the running for a promotion but were competing with each other. They interviewed a guy who had no say in their promotion whatsoever because our supervisor didn't want to be a part of it. Neither of them were actually up for the specific promotion anymore than hundreds of others across the company. My favourite part was them dramatically asking if my two teammates could manage to put aside their differences and work together on an event. When we literally run the same events on like a weekly basis and run events together daily. There was no rivalry whatsoever in real life. Hahahah.

She is a vicious evil witch that is picking on other crew members usualy new guys or insecure ones. Why is it that in every season she is described as pure evil, not anoying or bad but evil just evil.

Kate has some issues. She comes off on the show as an immature bully but it appears she gets things done onboard. It’s Kate’s way or the highway. Not a fan.

Ok well Kates life is not interesting enough to read a book on her career. Pretty sure that book would be a boring read. I work in the entertainment industry though so I probably have way better stories.

The BEST Chief Steward ...by far... was Bugsy. That girl's artistic flare with decorating was sensational. Something Hannah and Kate had no idea about and she was able to talk about conflicts with other stewards in a positive way and not with bitchiness like some others that we know.

Kyle should not be able to work on a yacht again. He is the one that constantly causes the drama. He even calls himself does self-proclaimed drama queen.

I stopped watching after Kate left Hannah- I stopped with after Hannah left

I fell sorry for her.

Season 7, the one stew described her as evil. I certainly don’t think she is but she REALLY, REALLY tried to show everyone that she was. Awful person, just awful.

Below deck 2020 I loved Izzy and Rachel was hilarious below deck med definitely Hannah

Kate shouls go and do some research on her behavior towards co colleagues. Most of the crew had issues with her strange that this unfair Captain vould not see it. He must go and remove his bil. Cataracts to see clearly

She was awesome. The cheif stews after her were very stingy about helping her subordinates. Kate's biggest mistake was the loud music with the mentally ill girl but outside of that she was overall a hard worker and great.

Read Kate's book - interestng.
