The Untold Story of Solange Knowles | Rising Above Sister Beyoncé's Shadow To Become Her Own Person

Ойын-сауық

I feel like as a Solange fan, this video failed to explain the new direction of Solange’s career and what she has done with the ballet world, the contemporary arts and the works of what she’s currently doing with her agency, Saint Heron, including the release of her glassware line and later on, her furniture line. You guys create videos to say “she’s more than what people think” but still don’t explain to people exactly what sets her apart from Beyoncé or then entire Knowles family, in general. This video was an epic fail. But I guess, for those with a lower standard mindset, it has educated people where Solange stands as an artist and musician rather than as an interdisciplinary artist or human.

2:07-2:57 Solange is actually a real songwriter. She's very intelligent as well. She doesn't get people to write her songs, change of few words, and then get a writing credit. Where they do that at? Make it make sense! It doesn't matter whether her music did well or not. She actually wrote her music, and that's what matters the most. That royalty check is what matters. Plus she's an amazing actress. She very well could have been a successful actor.

I have actually never compared Solange to Beyonce. Their style and images are just too different to me. Initially, my image of Solange was that of a Radio Disney star or something and now it's like an alternative R&B/Soft Rock vibe. Beyonce meanwhile has always been mainstream R&B and Pop. I never nor have I ever thought of them in the same breath no more than being biologically related lol. They're just too different. I don't think Solange has ever wanted an extremely mainstream sound and look anyway tbh.
