Joseph got the birthright because Jesus took on his seed through David

. She knew her husband didn't want her and was deceived to have her unloaded on him by fraud

​@DK-Coffee Leah had no choice. Back in that time, daughters did what their fathers told them to do. Women were not independent, they depended upon their fathers and then husbands for everything. Had she told her father no, he could have, and probably would have, thrown her out onto the streets with no support from anyone.
