While filming Kisumu Today series in February 2019, we had the opportunity to visit the 'Kit Mikayi' rocks in Seme Sub-County. We had a sit down with one of the village elders of the area to understand the legendary story behind the rocks.

Very nice video, Kit Mikayi really impressed me. One of the most powerful spiritual places in the world.

Granite megaliths. I wonder why our geologists or anthropologists aren't bothered to learn more....

I wish researchers astronomers, ancient historians, etc took notice of the stone. Would like to know if it has some bearing with the solar system or star system in general, just like stone henge or the stone structures in South America, Zimbabwe, SA...definitely no way those stones arranged themselves like that naturally. Mpaka kuna a deeeeeeep meaning

He says the first man I guess during migration was impressed by the stone and decided to settle there. (His ancestors) he loved the stone so much and would spend most of his time there. Kit means stone, mikayi means 1st wife. They named it that way because of his love for the stone. That the sick come up here to chew some of its herbs. Also says they perform rituals here ie when there's drought, to bring rain.
