I actually don't think that Xue Yang was naturally bad. I think, he has the same fate with Wei Ying, Wei Ying was just lucky enough to find a family that will teach him what is right and what is wrong while Xue Yang wasn't. They are both mistreated by society and elders. It's just too late when XY realized that Xiao Xingchen actually cares. If there's someone who can teach and care for Xue Yang, I believe that he will turn into good.

ermmm nobody is born to be bad...but if its about Xue yang..i think he just enjoys killing so much. hear me out.. Xue yang's situation was pathetic, yes..but then again, his finger was removed which was sad, but he got his revenge..not just on the person who caused it, but his entire clan. Now lets look at wei ying.. forget about the jiang clan cos he had literally paid his debt when he gave JC his golden core.. those nonsense clan people, of which JC's clan is among couldnt allow him and the remaining wen clan to live in peace... he was killed. can they rest now? nope...he came back to life and they are still out to get him killed..now you tell me, if he wasnt just naturally good, wont he have all the right to turn evil and wipe them all out? (cos he had the power to do so) cos anyone who goes thru all he went thru would be a worse psycho than Xue yang

@@gegeford4475 Wei WuXian got kindness and care from Jiang Family That's what prevented him from becoming similar to Xue Yang I agree that Wei WuXian is good by nature, but noone knows how Xue Yang was before he suffered so much and ended up such cruel and brutal like he is now

Yes, if Xue Yang had someone who cared for him in childhood, he would have been probably a better person in adulthood, but let's be honest, he had other issues, he was definitely a narcissist, and had to be either a sociopath or a psychopath, which one I'm not sure, and while sociopaths and narcissists can be made, psychopaths are born.

@@gegeford4475 Wei Ying's morals were formed from experience with the Jiang Clan, Xue Yang learned that morality is irrelevant because no one ever taught him right from wrong. His experiences basically taught him that people can get away with whatever they want as long as they have power, while Wei Ying applies the Jiang Clan's teachings as well as other personal experiences when he tried to save the Wen Clan. Lan Zhan used his parents' relationship as a guideline of how to react towards Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng's parents created such an inferiority complex in him when it came to Wei Ying that his unresolved conflicts have become his greatest motivation.

I think I know why LZ said "Luckily." Both WY and XY went down similar paths, both abandoned at a young age, the only difference is that WY found a family whilst XY did not. Even so, they both chose demonic cultivation. I think LZ is very grateful that his WY did not end up like XY and even though he died, he still returned to him. Someone said he knows exactly how SL feels, to lose the person you love, see them die before your eyes.

that part is very complex: in his own twisted way he cared for him, xy had issues, he was a psychopath (wanting to kill a whole sect, even the dog, because of one person...wtf), no one showed him mercy until xxc appeared. In the novel they had more moments and after a while he stop making xxc kill innocent people, it was also mention he simply didnt WANT to kill, he was ok living a simple life with xxc (dont know about a-qing) for three years until song lan appeared and well, all went to hell I think he cared about xxc but realised it to late, but also wanted xxc back as a fierce corpse cause he would have to follow xy orders so...its complicated personally, I feel bad for xy and wish for an universe when the four of them can live happily ever after, but in this universe xxc deserved so much better than this
