It was SPOT. ON. I've been reading this story a lot as "choose your friends, your family, and, most importantly, yourself."

I love how this party is just a bunch of people with alot of messed up relationships and pasts and then there's just Ricky, goodboy of the year, never saw a knife fight in highschool, complete himbo, flawless human, good to his core and beyond... He really balances out the group...

Kingston: Sacrifices his time and we'll being to the city over and over again, gave up the love of his life and a possible future with her for it. Pete: ...yeah. Misty (Now Rowan): Escaped Faire, despised by the former ruler, has to perform a good show at a certain time or else she'll die. Kugrash: Was a white collar criminal, turned into a rat by someone he scorned, lives in the sewers, and one of his son's hates him. Ricky: Goodest boy.

I just love that they did a close up of Emily trying to silently tell murph something about the bagel and him just being confused whilst the rest are talking I can’t!!!!!!!

Can we talk about how Lou nailed playing Kingston with Liz? Brennan was so fucking perfect with being Liz and then Lou with his low soft voice cracking a joke or two but telling her she was everything to him-my eyes watered. Almost cried at the Sophia part and of course with the stone lions too. God, even Esther crying while shouting about how hot Ricky is was amazing.

I love that Brennan plays halflings and gnomes as absolute anarchist lunatics who basically scream tear it all down.

Idea for a mini series: Unsleeping City: Critters. Brian Murphy DMs a story where Kugrash enlists vermin heros to defeat a tiny evil. All the characters have to be the size of a rat or smaller. Rodents and insects, maybe a magical creature or two (how big do you think that excrement elemental is?). And Brennan plays Perry the Paladin Pidgeon, empowered by their undying love (or lust) for Kugrash.

Last episode I was so stressed after everybody was stunned and paralyzed etc. and had a moment where all I could think was “damn, this is really just 7 full grown adults playing with action figures….. And I *love* it. Get a life.”

It gave Kug a moment of redemption that felt so real. He had to make a meaningful sacrifice to make amends for his selfishness. While the ability to lift a curse would have helped his own family, Gabriella and Esther's family could only be healed by an artifact that powerful. Both families were hurt by Kug's betrayal, but it was more important to take advantage of this rare opportunity to repair the deep impact on Gabriella's family. This is also a beautiful illustration of the importance of reparations for intergenerational harms perpetuated in the US. A masterful way to tie a moment of character growth into the underlying theme of addressing the systemic, and often racially specific, damage caused by capitalism.

RBG was most definitely a paladin of Justice. And a righteous woman. She passed on the first day of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, and even if her life hadn't been a sure sign of the truly righteous hero she was, the day of her passing absolutely way. I'm watching this now, a full year and a month after her passing, and I started tearing up when Brennan said that line, and then again when Ally looked at the camera and made their comment. Zichrona l'vracha. Her memory will _always_ be for a blessing to everyone. Um, also, Ally identifies as nonbinary. Please don't misgender them.

I had to stop watching at that part because it hurt. Brennan did a good job at personifying them.

I love Ally having a time with the nuts. do I regret typing that? maybe..

The fact that brennan included alejandro coughing is such a great small detail 18:10

24:35 I love how Brennan just stops describing the scene with epic music stopping as well making that just pure comedy. And then continues the scene

I love how Brennan says gif with a hard g, but decides for whatever reason that Alejandro would use a soft g- Just an interesting little detail.

Alejandro is Mexican (i think- or at least from a country that speaks Spanish), and in spanish, 'g's are always soft, so it makes sense given his country of origin.

That they did all this at 7am makes it all so much more impressive

Haven't seen anyone commenting on this yet, but I'm 90% sure Moses' password, "rosebud", in addition to being a Citizen Kane reference, is a reference to Rosebud Yellow Robe, who was a Native American activist in the mid 20th century. Real life Robert Moses hired her to be director of the Indian Village in New York

The umbrella upgrade was incredible on brennan's part. Absoutely no hesitation, impressive.

Also that you don't need any homebrew or item to do this because it literally does say if you are missing limbs the armor can be used as it also creates them

its the same thing that happens in other types of dnd campaigns, where the party has to go through a whole dungeon before fighting the boss, brennans campaigns just separate them a bit

Kingston and Liz’ conversation made me tear up. The heartache of loving someone who you parted ways with but finally having the conversation that’ll help understand each other better 🥺 Brennan and the rest of the crew are such great storytellers.

Brennan full on manifesting “Anderson Cooper is CANON fey” with all the power and authority of a DM lol

I got chills when Sophia selected herself as the chosen one

I’m almost embarrassed to admit this, but it wasn’t until this episode that I realized Ricky’s Axe was a Fire Axe. After all, the Questing Blade takes on the needed form for its wielder. Like the baseball bat.

Did you think he had a sword the whole time or some kind of medieval axe? It's interesting to look back and imagine Ricky using a different weapon instead of his fireman's axe in some scenes. I wonder if you've rewatched this series with the knowledge you have now and how different certain scenes are in your mind because of it.

Dude the ability to replenish a ki point any time you take damage is freaking rediculous and HOT D@&$ WASNT EXPECTING THAT TO HAPPEN SO SURPRISED AND HAPPY CUGRASH DID THAT AND I HOPE THAT DAVID GETS RID OF HIS VAMPIRISM FOR THE SAKE OF HIS FAMILY

Wow the rp in this episode really sent me over the edge, these characters are so down to earth and emotional, it's incredible

Ally certainly predicted the future about how sad the scene with RBG was given that by the time this episode aired on KZread she had been dead for 12 weeks. May her memory be a blessing (For the record I do see how that could look like a pun giving the blessings on the Questing Blade but since she was Jewish one would say "may her memory be a blessing" instead of "rest in peace")
