You will never get a complaint out of me for changing up your subject matter now and then, especially if you're including some extremely interesting history and/or legends in the mix. I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Have a great weekend!

I appreciate the support! I love adding in different bits of stuff here and there just to keep it interesting. I’m glad you did, it’s been one I’ve wanted to do for awhile! You as well my friend 🖤
It is so crazy how they have changed some of the terrible things in fairy tales to make them more palatable for people. They've even changed things a lot in some of them since I was a child. (I'm 52) When I read them to my granddaughters I either read out of a really old book I found in a used book store or I change the story to the way I remember it as a child. I get some flak for this, but I don't think prettying things up to the point it's sickingly sweet is good, either. Kids need to know that there is evil in this world and that the bad people get punished. I do let them know that they're not real and that folks don't get punished like that anymore. That's why its a Fairy Tale. It hasn't damaged them, if anything, it's led them to very intelligent questions and observations about what's real and what's not. Maybe I'm wrong, but until I see or hear anything from one of them that leads me to believe it's hurting them, I will continue. They are 3 and 6, and reading to them about a variety of different things and answering questions honestly has led to some discussions that are so adult it's creepy. Lol
No matter the subject, when Ash uploads, I automatically click the "Like" button then watch her video..

As a child, I always enjoyed reading fairy tails. The background research on these stories takes it to another level. I never, ever thought there could possibly be a kernel of truth to any of them but like all great fiction writers there is always some element of truth embedded in their novels and stories in order to bring the story to life. I am amazed at the information your research has uncovered. This channel is put a unique spin on content development. Thank you for taking time to provide quality content that is entertaining. Keep up the good work. 😀

Luuuuuved it!!! I’ve heard all of these b4 but it’s like a fav rerun. Never gets old. Maybe consider doing the same type of video for nursery rhymes. Warning…their pretexts r much darker.

Thank you,I love the real versions of these fairytales . I actually read these as a youngster. The triming of Cinderella's stepsisters feet is truly gruesome.
I'm so glad you told the original versions of the Fairy Tales. There are so many versions now. I love the brutal original stories best.
The last one was one I didn’t know, I love history so thank so much!
Enjoyable renditions and speculation on origins.
I think it is very healthy for you to step back from true crime. This wasn’t a big step back but it is something. Take care.
Geezus, de Rais sounds like a loathsome fellow.
as soon as ash came on i pushed the thumbs up you do great research and story telling you have a sweet voice and make wonderful videos thank you please continue to make them fairy tails and true crime i enjoy every video

I really like topics like this! I didn't know about any of these but wow... history is so fascinating and it's especially interesting seeing how old stories were inspired.
Very interesting......several nursery rhymes are also thought to have a basis in truth

History is written by the victors -- and I wonder how much of the Bluebeard story was a hatchet job on de Rais by his enemies?

I loved the video! I have always been intrigued by the gruesomeness of Gilles de Rais…it’s so creepy. I will probably end up sounding like a jerk for saying the following, though it’s not at all my intention! I wanted to point out that the Lueneburg MS is actually dated 1440-1450. In the video you say 1140-1150; this is confusing since the MS says the events occurred in 1284. Thank you again for a fantastic video!

Valkenburgs castle is not in Brussels Belgium, but in Valkenburg Netherlands
I like hearing about the origins of most everything. A while back I was told that the nursery rhyme Ring-a-Ring-a-Rosy came about during I think it was the plague and the lines - a tissue a tissue we all fall down was in reference to people getting the illness and dying. The rhyme apparently came about as a way of soothing children and the faint of heart, meaning ladies. But it seems the fairytales and rhymes we hear today all have a gruesome and sad story behind them. Thank you for sharing I found this very interesting 👍
Thanks U.T.A.T.💜

There’s a funny joke about the mirror in Snow White being a pedophile cuz of saying that the 7 year old Snow White was more beautiful than the queen..
Good thing the Queen wasn't married to Gregory House...
my mirror never lies but it always verifies I got more cheese and pepperoni than a homemade pizza pie You compare me to a Monchichi but I don't understand Why I'm scorned like I'm deformed like the Elephant Man And yea I took my mom to the prom but hey she asked me first But at least this time I didn't find my date in the back of a hearse About as popular with the girls with Englebert Humperdink And that might be 'cause everybody calls me Shrinky Dink I know I'm known as Polaroid I'm not a total retard It's cause I'm done in sixty seconds and you'll still want it enlarged
