    Simon was 100% correct. He has been in the music biz for decades & has an ear for talent or non-talent. He was absolutely correct that she has a 'singing in my bedroom in front of the mirror voice'. She's continued in music due to her family & friends encouragement; doesn't mean she has a commercial voice that would sell. There was nothing exceptional or even good about her voice. Her brother on the other hand has pure talent, is able to capture the essence of a song & relays that to the listener in a way that makes the listener LISTEN. I could listen to Callum sing this over & over every day for the rest of my life. I couldn't wait for his sister to stop singing. That's what Simon & David heard. Simon & David knew what they heard from her & what just wasn't there. Amanda did the sheep thing & just followed their input.

    @@Danzwme OK, but it just bothered me that she wasn‘t even given a proper chance to show what she‘s got. In my view, she made a number of tactical errors : firstly, she announced that her brother is waiting in the wings to sing, then especially the choice of her first song was catastrophic. I think Jade was singing songs below her ideal key. She didn’t have control or power but might have if the key was raised. I once worked with an entertainment lawyer and producer. To illustrate tgat I had recorded a singer in the wrong key, he put on a Mick Jagger song that he had produced. It was by far the best recording of Jagger I ever heard. In addition to the rough voice there was a richness I had never heard. I asked the producer how he did tat. He replied, “I was illustrating how important but is to get the key right…down to the half step. No one had ever taken the time to get his key…down to the half step.” Like C# not C. That is what may have been the problem with Jade.

    Simon understands what is marketable. This is a singing competition but at the same time he wants ro make money or its just a loss for his company. Many times i have disagreed with his shows decisions and seen some horrendous acts become famous from it but the numbers dont lie. They know the market

    Also early in these shows the other judges were cowed by Cowell. Later on after producers put Cowell on a leash the other judges were able to judge as they seen fit.

    Interesting he absolutely didn't give her a chance, n then he stood for Calum and gave the buzzer. Calum was *great,* but i couldn't help thinking Simon was trying to be nice to make up for not giving her a chance.

    She may be able to sing, but regardless of how supportive you are all trying be, Jade's audition was frankly pretty rubbish. She barely sang into the microphone out of the sides and corners of her mouth for the first song, and it had absolutely no tune. When she restarted and sang "With or withow yeh", she had already lost her second chance. The clip we see is not as much as the judges see but it is already more than enough to give her no better than a "probably not".

    It’s all staged … whenever Simon stops a performer and have them sing another song … it’s just to build suspense … it’s a crafted move by the production company …

    Far worse singers have been given a chance to sing far longer. I wander why Jade wasn't given the same chance as Callum

  • @socalso
    @socalso11 күн бұрын

    I get where it seems like Jade wasn't given a chance, but put yourself in the judge's shoes, they see a lot of acts and after awhile can get a feel for the person's ability right from the start. Granted they've been wrong at times, and the biggest thing is song choice. Have to say though, I watched a ton of auditions, the very first American Idol live on TV, and years of AGT, BGT, and the Voice from all over the globe - and frankly I've turned into a Simon. You start to tell who's got something special and who doesn't. There is a difference between singing and being a singer.
