Funny enough I had a rager last night. The model I follow and that resonated with me from the symposium was Socrates’ ability to drink and be fine the next day, without completely losing his senses.

The strongest point taken from The Hierachy societal pressures is that "it's bad to pass out drunk at partys" , seems like without that Plato's understanding of what makes a god would never have cought on!

Its Jacob who wrestles God. Then his name is changed to Israel meaning 'God prevails' or 'one who struggles with God'.

You may be interested to know that the Prophet Muhammad said Aristotle was a prophet. One can imagine he probably thought the same about Plato.

Muhammed did not say it, several islamic scholars have said it though. Also, they said it about Socrates not Plato nor Aristotle

@@paulgetty5405 I did not say that. Read again what I wrote😂. You might be correct that it is mentioned in this book. However, if you are not familiar with islamic sciences, it is hard to explain. But in a nutshell, this saying (and the one I mentioned that a scholar had said) has no scholarly value, this is by the standards of Hadith sciences. It is somthing that is just mentioned in history or, like your book, purely logical and philosophical books which were written 1000 years after the prophet.

Aristotle would have never regarded himself as a prophet and especially not one that’ recognizes himself as part of the eventual culmination of a monotheistic religion influenced by the Persians and Zoroastrianism .
