I used a method like this when island captains first started years ago . The captains spawned everytime when they first came out . I maxed order of souls within 2 games sessions 😊

5 minute cooldown between skeleton captains. Ive been using this method fo a while. The rest of the mobs are rng based. But i have noticed that when doing the same island over and over there comes a point where it seems like nothing is spawning anymore. Just kill all the animals and max 3 resets later you are good to go. Hostile mobs don't respawn when the islands animals respawn. So killing the animals resetting the iland yo respawn them then again for the hostile mobs. Also cannon at 45° shoot out wait for 1 or 2 seconds at the first mermaid and then go back. No need for second merm. Ty 4 all the videos i enjoy watching them there is always a nice chill atmosphere.

​@@wilstockwell5022 the only other thing I can suggest is cycling between 3 islands, and don't try more than 5 resets on each one. Once a captain spawns, kill it then get the treasure and go to the next island in the cycle. Best 3 to do this on are , castaway isle/fools lagoon/chicken isle. The safest 3 are, salty sands/boulder cay/picaroon palms.

⁠@@wit4043 its somewhat reliable but after a couple rounds of going between the 3 islands as you described some won’t spawn anything for a good 10 resets. Could be server capacity or reaching a timer or cap. I remember being told that if you repeatedly reset islands without leaving them for an extended period of time it won’t spawn stuff. So your method does work but it does hit a wall/cap in which I end up selling anyways so it isn’t too much of a problem.

I do the same, usually with a gold flag. I prefer Lookout Point because it's kinda far south so easy to keep an eye out for hostiles and also close to Plunder Outpost for turning in. It can be annoying because often it resets regular skellies or phantoms, or the sea monsters aren't dropping any gems.

@@PhuzzyBond I wanted to say also that it's because of twitch's (then) new way of earning rewards and the last time I watched for several hours my rewards would not claim for some reason and that was too much of my time to take for free unfortunately.

Could also be useful for people trying to get the accommodations / cosmetics for the reapers gifts if your solo and un easy on taking world events by yourself

I aready did somenting like that on the crescent isle using the final part of the first chapter of the shroudbreak,quest just to finish my pass :) The flower skelys spawns like crazy and you got a tons of renown, but this method looks really more profitable

In my older Secret of Skeleton captain, I believe they used to, also lots of other types. Unfortunately there's lots of silent patches and changes in every update, its inconsistent

Great. My style often. BTW how were you managing the chest of rage there in this video. It appeared that your ship stayed safe. Unless I misunderstood and it was actually ashore.

I did it a week ago after seeing your skeleton captain video and was able to just go to the first mermaid I saw and reload.

This is all untested speculation on my part, but you might be able to manipulate enemy spawn timers by starting and ending the tall tale Heart of Fire with a checkpoint. I have heard in the past that Heart of Fire either prevents or massively slows random land enemy spawns, so in theory you might be able to reset your own personal grace period for enemy spawns by starting and ending the tall tale. Not sure if this would work better than your two mermaid method, but it might help change all the hidden code tied to your character to make resetting an island more consistent after you take a mermaid a few times.

Does that work with stacking sunken quest too?like getting bottels every 3 or 4time?

I started playing today. Ended up at some island and killed that skeleton who dropped a red skull and the ashen key. Had no idea what the ashen chest was so I ended up losing it lol... Games a blast though.

What if you parked between two islands, say salty sands and boulder cay and use cannons to shoot yourself to the islands alternating each time to reset/ cooldown?

If they are far enough from each other, it should work. But after you shoot urself, your 1st island is already reseted, so... why use two?

It does seem like lately the mob spawns are a bit boosted, and who knows if that's going to stay permanent. Another thing I've seen a few times is skeletons switching types; fighting gold skellies then I run away, come back and they're shadow skeletons. I don't think it's supposed to work like that?

It didn't used to do that. It may be a result of the battle not being allowed to spawn if you're too far away along with another glitch. If you're doing captain voyages the skellies spawned by the voyage will be boosted compared to a regular voyage or random spawn.

I remember back in season 3 Twin groves was constantly spawning things, we didn't even have to reset the island.

11:05 I FELT that sigh and the immediate desire to speedrun the reset.😆

Wouldn’t chaining sea forts be more profitable and faster? 2-3 forts for Gold Horders and Merchant, and 3-4x for Souls each takes 10-15 min tops solo.

You could even have a quest for a chest of legends voted up to maximize the amount of gems, because ocean crawlers have a higher spawn rate

This is perfect for when I want to play Sea of Thieves but I have a poker tournament going on my other screen

grinding message in a bottles for kings chests will be very good in this new season

I wonder if I could use this strategy to stock up on coral message in a bottles to finish out my commendations for the breaths of the sea. I find it painfully difficult to find them normally.

It works for bottles but no very efficient, Snake island will be a better choice for that due to the multiple beaches , which increases the chance of shoreline loot and items

You can do that with the Sea Forts to :D They reset as sonn as your about 2 sqares away

I love stsrting at plunder outpost then go around sll lotyle islands thrn just repeat get mad loot

Does spending 6 minutes on the ferry still reset the sea forts? Have been away from the game a while and a little out of touch

Could this be done on safer seas?? Because I'm mainly trying to go after debloons instead of loot at the moment.

This is gonna be absolutely amazing now bc captains drop the kings bounty skulls

You would get ashen loot instead of regular but dealing with the devils roar isnt worth it

Phuzzy made a guide for barnacle chests

If you had a cannon rowboat, you could use it to get further out from the island without swimming. Park it one cannon-shot away from your ship. It's more viable now that you can repair the damage that rowboats get from firing the cannon.

It won't work at a fortress, as that had a different timer, similar to treasuries. I think they respawn every 20 minutes

We used to use a keg suicide to reset islands animal spawn.

From what I noticed, the riddles of large isles give better odds for large amounts of gold, with a decent chance for ritual skulls as well. Can this method be used on large isles?

it can, but large islands are, well, large, so the loot will be scattered around and there will be a lot of running and loot carrying (because i assume you want to group that loot up in a nice pile). + the riddles can take some time to fully solve depending on the island

can you only do order of souls

This strategy used to be somewhat more dangerous, when it was only captains, as their maps had a chance to spawn buried Reaper's Chests. They no longer do that, of course, but it would've been a pretty good way to farm those as well (unfortunately it never provided Reaper's Bounties, which seem somewhat rarer).

I've gotten both a reapers bounty and a reapers chest from 1 capitan. So it's rare but still possible. The loot table is on the sot wiki.

Let’s just hope that it doesn’t get patched in the next update.

Kinda curious, there were only ashen key masters but no ashen guardians on this island. Could it be that certain islands spawn only one type of ashen captains?

Ashen Guardians give you riddles, so I’ve only seen them spawn on bigger islands.

So just out of curiosity in science terms, Is there a set quantity in amount of loot that can spawn depending on what Island your on and the Size? Is it 100% Random random or is there a limit pending what island it is..? I know it's random but is there some kinda "system" behind it at all per island in terms of quantity of items, or amount of PvE that will exist.

On small islands you can get a capitan every 5 minutes, number of maps 4 the island has no bearing on that. And usually -3 to 5 skeletons or 1 to 3 ocean crawlers, or 1 to 5 phantoms. Capitan can spawn with any of these and there is a chance to have 2 different types of mobs spawn in one reset.

Tip for a video: How to stack Chests of Ancient fortune. Complete the Shrine of Ocean's Fortune in 3 minutes (this is possible), then complete something else and go back? Or maybe Phuzzy knows a better way? 😉😊

this method seems like it would be much better on a small ashen island

Sometimes I’ll be doing a poem from a skelly captain and another will spawn while I’m doing it.

You could theoretically do this to get a box of wondrous secrets

Yes it works, if kegs respawn that means no one is there, however they also have a cooldown, so they won't spawn each time even if no one is there. I believe the cooldown is 30 in-game hours.

Its crazy that this is not patched yet. Simple solution would be setting it on timer for a player/crew. New player/crew in an area would still be able to respawn the loot, but the player/crew that just got the loot, would have timer.

Ashen chests, contain skulls, chalice's, and always tomes which are books for commendations

Question- I've noticed increased ocean crawler spawns during Athena voyages. Is this a real thing, or my imagination? If it is real, would this be a viable gem farm as well, to have a Athena down during this method?

When I was doing my 30 bottle quests I did shoot out of my canon to another island and came back and one was on the island I shot out from which wasn’t there before but I’d say your better off sailing around for ship wrecks and little islands for them it probably takes forever to get one to spawn by doing this and you can also as you look for ship wrecks get the hoarder of barnacle gold at the same time that’s how I got those commendations by sailing for ship wrecks and looking at little islands I’ll be honest it was fun when I found the coral quests and found a barnacle chest I would definitely do the 300 and 30 again

@@Robo_builder I did 20 back when they first came out and left 10 for years about 2 months ago I finished them they weren’t bad I enjoyed sailing around for them I haven’t played since just because I’ve done almost everything in the game just pvp is the last thing for me so I’ve just been waiting till I’m ready to play again great game though

Sea forts take, I wanna say 5-8 minutes to respawn regardless of your position; but what you can do is go back and forth indefinitely between Old Brinestone Fortress and Ancient Gold Fortress. No matter how fast you are, the other will be respawned when you get there, and it keeps you in one small, off the path section of the map. The gold's good too.

I watched a video of the fort one when the two skeletons with the bomb come out shoot them in the legs and take the bomb somewhere on the other side of the fort then die or launch far so they can respawn and repeat it again until you want just don't kill all skeletons it has to be done in that wave

It’s also been a thing for ages and I’m sure RARE knows about it and just doesn’t care. They’re not about to change the way their island refreshing system works and risk messing things up over this “exploit” that most people aren’t going to bother with

For all the effort of repeatedly trying to respawn the island, you could just sail to another island, I think island hopping for freebies is totally viable. Even just back and forth between Rum Runner Isle and Twin Groves?

There are other methods like this, if you have your boat just outside of the islands loading circle, and start a mission that can be on that island, most of the time it'll take you to the island your next to, you just shoot yourself over or use a rowboat and leave your ship outsider the load zone so you can farm the quest Edit: there's a video posted about a month ago by imsanderino explaining how it works, you need 1 other person with you so it isn't possible solo like this one is, but it still works so

You could probably abuse this for the box of wonderous secrets...

Level 5 with 1 island...but in how much time?😅

Tried for myself, just to chill farm. Two tries, the two times I just got instant killed by a squeleton galion on the way back to the outpost. Unluck ? Or the game is fighting agaist me. Don't know but, I'll probably quit this method for now.

I guess at least you will be gathering loot so slowly, that when you get attacked you will not lose much. Definitely not saving yourself any time doing random islands for loot.

So i did it.. i spend like 2 hours.. its not working anymore.. u can only spawn regular skelly and thats it.. nothing happening.. i killed all the pigs and mobs but nothing.. i think its patched

Works fine, on Safer Seas too, however I don't recommend it as a main source of leveling as mentioned in the video, it's just for ultra chill sessions

this process takes a lot of time while doing ghost ship is much faster and not hard..
