I really feel that story. My mom was Catholic went to catholic school early, my grandma (dad’s mom) was baptist, they both had heavy hand in raising us. My father was not always around but I’ve known the Fatiha and Arabic alphabet since I was 8. I chose Islam because of the 3 religions it was the only religion that embraced the other 2 religions while the other two were exclusive. I’ve learned alot more about Judaism since embracing Islam. It was a logical, easy decision and I’ve been so blessed since. It blows my mind that most Muslims know more about Christianity then Christians. My favorite surah is Surah Al Kahf

His comments and view on Islam always bothered me a bit, cause he was like: “I don’t know what to think about Islam, I know Muhammed was a warlord and I don’t know what to do with that”. That is more of a way to disapprove something without literally saying it. Now he showed a real open mind towards Islam and decided to really investigate it. I’m glad he dit this. But. Muhammad was a warlord. A murdering, thieving, pedophile, who lied on behalf of God, spoke verses that he later claimed were from Satan, called Jews and Christians the worst of all creatures, made absolutely baseless claims like Christ wasn't crucified, and generally became an incomprehensibly evil psychopath. So.. I don't know what kind of open mind anyone should have with a monster like that, because justice would have him killed. Instead his followers kill people who speak out or have a cartoon of him, or in any way feel uncomfortable. Instead his followers are told that they will gain endless carnal self indulgence by deflowering perpetual virgins in the afterlife, so long as they kill and die for the monster prophet. Sick sick sick.

Hurt feelings dont make it any less true. Now JP is just looking for allies in this post-modernism society and hence is going softer on all "people of the book". Any thinking man in this day and age, if he can be true to facts and see beyond the sweet apologetics of the world (Hamzas included) can never follow ANY religion. but who am OI to tell you to wake up and smell the coffee.

You have got to be kidding me. I can't even begin to understand how you could think that Muslims would love Jesus more than Christians do. Even if I wasn't a Christian, this would be a completely base of statement. Christians by definition believe Jesus to be the uncreated, necessarily existent, all powerful, all loving, merciful god of the universe. There is no amount of love that one person could have for a mere human being that will ever measure up the amount of love that God deserves. This statement that you made is also fall of a bunch of meth about Jesus he never spoke after 2 days, that is not in the scriptures. I don't know what you mean about him defending his mother, but I assume that's also from some sort of Legend that developed much later about Jesus, guess again there really isn't much in Scripture that could point to such an interpretation. He routinely claimed to be God incarnate, and things like forgiving people of their sin towards God, commanding the wind and waves, and most clearly and perfectly making the point of his divinity, rising from the dead, there is no option left open to anyone to believe he was merely some sort of good profit. He is either right about his claim to be God, or he's wrong. If he's right then he is none other the great God of gods. If he is wrong he either knows he's wrong or he doesn't know he's wrong. If he doesn't know he's wrong and he is in fact wrong about that, then he is a lunatic on par with someone who claims to be a glass of orange juice. If he is wrong and knows he's wrong then he's an absolute devil of a human being because he commanded his followers to trust in him for their Eternal destiny. There is no middle ground nice prophet option

Jordan peterson had learnt one important thing in this question he asked Hamzah - that is in Islam all questions on theology had been asked before and answered by the Prohet Muhammad himself during his lifetime - no place for guessing games. - such that the first part of Hamzah's answer could be answered even by a school boy - namely the 6 pillars of faith and the 5 pillars of Islam . It's all scripted by the Prophet through revelation that's why Hamzah's answers were very spontaneous and requires no thinking at all .

As a Christian, I must admit to being attracted to the beauty, wisdom, and submissive elements of Islam. That said, I have always been troubled by the repetitive, public nature of Muslim prayer. As a Christian, I believe that corporate expressions of devotion to God are meant to be expressive and jubilant. Many Muslim converts have been attracted to the joy and freedom they see in this form of worship. Intimate prostrate prayer is, like other things that are truly intimate in God's eyes, meant to be private. Therefore, Islam's practice of repetitive prayer is in direct contradiction to Jesus statements about prayer: "Do not use vain repetitions" and "when you pray, go into your prayer closet and shut the door". However, The Catalysm of the Kingdom of Heaven outlines private, prostrate prayer with seven required devotional steps so that parents can be honored, man may humble himself before God, God may be touched and welcomed to infuse our body, soul, and spirit, God can be honored and thanked, and prayers may, at last, be said. None of this devotion requires certain verbiage because it is not only important that we submit to God, but that our prayer experience, although structured, is not 'scripted' which is significant as we believe, as Christians, that our God is meant for us to have a living breathing relationship with (edit) Him. This should be a relationship that is not a monotonous burden. So when your consider the three levels of worship outlined in the Catalysm that has seven private elements, seven public elements, and seven corporate elements, a beautiful spread of sacred mechanism's are laid out for us to honor God in ways that are not forced upon us by any religious leader whether Christian or Muslim. The perfect ideal is that those who believe in God have the perfect freedom to do so. Additionally, not having scripted prayers that must be said in a given language has the additional effect of being truly universal. For those for whom Islam is not their native language, there are significant road blocks to learning the multiple prayers, which must be said in Islam, in addition to the difficulty of internalizing prayers said in a second language. Our adoration of God is not about the superiority of a given language, now matter how pretty Arabic script appears, no matter how beautiful Arabic prayer sounds. In the end, the supremacy of God is all that matters and all road blocks to intimate prayer, sacred remembrance, and expressive worship are simply not ideal. The Catalysm of the Kingdom of Heaven explains all this and so much more. It has just been published and is ready to be embraced. God Bless and Salaam Alaikum.

@Mike F That is why I feel like God has given me this revelation. It approaches submission with the same reverence as Islam while addressing key changes. God does not want repetitive prayer and neither does he need prayer in a special language or facing in a certain direction. But you are absolutely right - Christians, especially Protestants, have no established methodology for approaching God and often have very shallow, intermittent ways of honoring God. The priesthood wants there to be a reliance on the church experience for this intimacy. That is a mistake when our faith needs to be internalized.

@@thecatalysm5658 Fair enough, I do understand your perspective that prayer shouldn't be monotonous. And the truth is in several matters God has made a leeway for practices to become easier. The reason why prayer is prescribed to begin with is ordained in this verse: ”Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, ˹genuine˺ prayer should deter ˹one˺ from indecency and wickedness. The remembrance of Allah is ˹an˺ even greater ˹deterrent˺. And Allah ˹fully˺ knows what you ˹all˺ do.”(29:45) Women dont have to pray when on their period, and some muslims combine the 5 prayers into 3 based on certain understandings of prophetic narrations regarding the matter. Nonetheless, it's still daily and maybe that may be repetitive, but the human nature is inclined to sin rather quickly. This is why daily prayers are helpful to keep the person steadfast in their moral obligations. You attested above that Christians clearly are deviant today and many are simply Christian by name. Prayer is the only solution

@@WeyardWiz Thank you for your thoughtful response. I wholeheartedly agree that daily prayer is necessary. We so quickly, as humans become filled with pride, lust, and selfishness. Here is what the Intimys (the second part of the Catalysm) says about the frequency of prayer: Sorry for the length... INTIMYS a-h: "a This prayer should be done daily, if possible, and preferably on a clean surface or designated throw or blanket as a way to connect with and show our honor and devotion for God. b Many believers will refuse to pray to God in the following manner with the excuse that it looks like prayers from other religions or that God wouldn’t ask them to pray in such a fashion. c In truth, scripture after scripture that speaks of the worship of God is not a reference to people singing God’s praise in a church setting or concert but is a reference to believers bowing down on their hands and knees or prostrate to really worship God in true humility. d Our willingness to physically submit ourselves into a low and humble position that requires us to fully exhale to perform it comfortably creates a spiritual parallel in which our bodies are regularly emptied of a proud, boastful, and ungrateful spirit as we give thanks to our parents, and gratitude and prayer to our Triune God. e Furthermore, the following devotion follows the guidance of Jesus in not requiring repetitive spoken prayers which are an element of prostrate prayer in other religions. f It is during this private prayer time when it is most appropriate to, if we feel moved, pray in our personal prayer language expressing utterances from our spirit that only God can understand. g Our prayers and worship of God should always be fresh and from the heart as we have a living God who communes with us to guide us, protect us, and empower us to live a life full of abundant blessing and joy. h Verily, for God’s people who want to be in His intimate presence daily and who are willing to humble themselves before Him, there remains no valid objection to honoring God this way and, to be sure, He is calling us to it. "

@@thecatalysm5658 Bingo, the willingness to submit our selves humbles us from our ego and pride, and that's why we submit our will to God's will, because we have been given free will, but the free will prompts one's self to evil (”for surely one's self prompts one to evil 12:53) Often it is thought that we pray because God ”needs” our prayer, which is completely absurd. ”...surely Allah is not in need of ˹any of His˺ creation.”(3:97) ”Whoever chooses to be guided, it is only for their own good. And whoever chooses to stray, it is only to their own loss. No soul burdened with sin will bear the burden of another.”(17:15)

I'll try to keep this brief. Put aside everything you've been taught for a while! There are 3 significant religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) in terms of the number of followers Each religion has its own book (testimony) The three religions claim that God is the source of the book (undoubtedly) and that they are the most correct. Now Muslims claim that their Prophet is the last and final! And their book (the Qur’an) reported changes, additions, and deviations in the other books and the two religions (Judaism, Christianity). Since the book of Muslims, i.e. the Qur’an, told in detail about the other religions and their mistakes and the God of the Muslims challenged others, according to Muslims claim, to come up with the same (detailed book)! Accordingly, other religions' Gods should send someone or some book to contradict the claims of the Muslim book. And this never happened!!!

In essence there is no difference. All prophets followed each other (according to the prophets themselves). Its people who have changed beliefs and created difference, and making it so that there are multiple religions. Youll come to know this when you study the religions. The whole idea actuallt is simply do you either believe or not believe (in God). And to that, second, comes layers (which teaching are you following). Only Islam follows all prophets actually.

Islam (Arabic word) means submission to God. A Muslim is the one who submits to the will of God. Therefore all who submit their will to God are Muslims. This includes all the prophets and their true followers. Adam, Noah, Abraham, Ismael, Isaac, Joana, Moses, Arun,David, Jesus and , the final messenger of God and Islam, prophet Muhammad (peace be upon them all) were all Muslims. Moses never named his religion as Judaism (that was a named given by the Israelites after him) , Jesus never chose the name Christianity (that was actually what the enemies of the followers of Jesus called them and they adopted it ) . Jesus did not say he taught Christianity nor has he ever seen a bible (scriptures written by people who never met or saw Jesus - some 100s year after Jesus). Muslims believe in all the prophets from Adam, Noah, Moses, Jesus (who we say was a prophet sent by God - we believe the was born of a virgin, was gods word in the sense that gid said 'be' and he was, believe in the miracles God did through him + his return). Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the last prophet of ISLAM and that all prophets (all 124,000 of them + their true followers) were MUSLIMS because they obeyed the will of God. Each prophet came for a particular nation and a particular time. The final prophet of God before Judgement Day, Muhammad (peace be upon him - a descendant of Ismael/Ishmael the first son of Abraham ) , was sent for all of creation with the final testament , the Qur'an.

I presume that you are an evangelical christian and you believe in the doctrine of the trinity and vicarious atonement but not doing good works then you also believe as long as a man who rapes and murders your daughter and then repents and later on sin the same sin or a man rapes and murders your sister and then repents and later on sin the same sin or a man rape and murders your mother and then repents and later on sin the same sin or rapes and murders your wife and then repents and later on sin the same sin and evangelical christian still believes in the doctrine of the trinity and also believes that Jesus Christ died on the cross for his sins that he will be forgiven and will go to heaven and despite continuing to rape and murder innocent people but will still go to heaven as he still believe in the doctrine of the trinity and also as long as he still believes that Jesus died on the cross because you believe that this man is your evangelical christian brethren who you will embrace him but you also believe that good works are just like dirty rags according to your apostle Paul as your apostle Paul also said that faith alone believing that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins they you are forgiven and will go to heaven is your only salvation. According to christian evangelical theology, good works are the consequence of salvation and not its justification. They are the sign of a sincere and grateful faith. They include actions for the Great Commission, that is, Christian evangelism, service in the Church and charity. So Good works is a consequence but not a necessity for christian evangelical salvation. That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. ~Romans 10:9-10 You cannot be saved by your good works, because no matter how hard you try, your “good” is not good enough for the perfectly holy and completely righteous God who alone grants salvation. Nor can you be saved by your moral perfection-no matter how moral or how perfect you are. As the Old Testament prophet Isaiah points out, your righteousness is about as good as a “snot rag”. (Isaiah 64:6 ). I have actually cleaned that up a bit, because the Hebrew phrase for filthy rags, ukabeged ehdim, literally means, “like as rags of menstruation.” Sorry if that disgusts you, but it’s Scripture-so blame Isaiah. The point is, both our acts of righteousness, and the quality of righteousness that we hope they produce, are disgusting to God. So if you are disgusted by Isaiah’s language, think of how God, who inspired Isaiah to choose those coarse words, is repulsed by our efforts to get him to save us. So what hope, then, is there for our salvation? Well, frankly, no hope resides within us. None whatsoever. Ephesians 2:1 says “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins.” That’s how hopeless we are apart from God’s work to save us. You see, all a dead person can do is lay there and be dead, let alone try to be righteous before God.

But righteous is he who believes in God, and the Last Day, and the angels, and the Scripture, and the prophets. Who gives money, though dear, to near relatives, and orphans, and the needy, and the homeless, and the beggars, and for the freeing of slaves; those who perform the prayers, and pay the obligatory charity, and fulfill their promise when they promise, and patiently persevere in the face of persecution, hardship, and in the time of conflict. God bless you sir and guide you to the Truth. Islam in a nutshell as follows: I. The Basic Belief System is: 1. Tawheed - belief in the absolute oneness of the Almighty Creator, the Lord God, Allah. 2. To believe in All the Prophets including the Last and Final Messenger of Allah, Muhammad SAS. He is only truly Universal Messenger unto all Mankind without distinction. 3. Belief in the Angels of God. E.g.: Archangel Gabriel of Revelation; Michael - angel of sustenance and insight, Azrael - angel of Death; Israfeel - angel who will blow the Trumpet on Judgement Day; etc. 4. Belief in good and evil as trials and tests ordained by God. 5. Death of all life, including human beings. Everything created thing will perish, except Allah, the Almighty Creator Himself. 6. Resurrection of human beings on the Day of Resurrection to give an account of their life in this world, and to be assigned Paradise for the righteous and Hell for the disbelievers. II. The Five Pillars: 1. Upholding the Testimony (Shahadah): Worship the Almighty Creator, Allah Alone and NOT His creations and obey Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah SAS as the Last and Final and only truly universal Prophet unto all Mankind. No Prophet or religion will come after him SAS. 2. Five times daily Prayers (Salat): at Dawn (Fajr); at Noon (Zuhr); at afternoon (Asr(; at Sunset (Maghrib); and at Night (Isha). 3. Give the prescribed Charity - Zakat. 4. Fast in month of Ramadan - Saum. 5. Perform Pilgrimage, at least once in a lifetime, if possible - Hajj.

Quran details what Islam means. It is not the "third monotheistic religion", all revelations are Islam. Abraham being the first Muslim. So on your first point, Jordan probably tries to define what Islam means without knowing the real definition given by God in the Quran. On your second point you are right, but son of gods are numerous in the bible ie it depends how you understand it... Does Jordan thinks that Jesus was fully God and fully human? then that is shirk.

If a system of belief is not able to generate a society which embraces and practices basic human rights such as freedom of speech, equality of people and free justice systems, something is inherently flawed. No matter the beauty of the message, the societal realisation of the message must be the true testament to its quality, and Islam has yet the prove that in my opinion.

May the Lord continue to strengthen Jordan Peterson's mind against deception as he explores the Truth of the Bible and Divinity of Jesus Christ. Christ's death and resurrection settled it all. There are many Messianic Jews who recognize that Jesus is the messiah. The first Christians were Jews!! Salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ, we do not have to measure our good deeds, nor fulfill tenets of faith, these are all our own efforts. Following Christ is the only way to Heaven. Don't be deceived, there is no other way. "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12. "Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Phil 2:9-11. In this regard, there is only one Truth. Take care that you choose the Way, the Truth and the Life. We are praying for Jordan Peterson and millions who still need to come to an understanding of truth. Pray and ask the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to reveal Himself to you. He said that you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart. Peace.

I admire Jordan Peterson for trying to understand Islam and see it as the same and similar to his own Christian Faith but that is sadly far from the truth. Islam and Christianity are diametrically opposed to each other because of the claims Islam makes. Islam borrowed from Christianity and Judaism and plagiarised a lot of the teachings of these Faiths to make it look like the same truth and belief in one God. But when you begin to look deeply into the fine print of the words in the Quran and the Hadiths you begin to see a frightening picture of an intolerant cruel and unenlightened Belief that is at odds with the image of an all loving and forgiving God.

Hello fellow human beings, allow me to ask you a religious question which is a deep and very original question which deals with the origin of things and the real reason for life I think. We humans in this world are tempted by the devil who pushes us to do bad deeds. So far I think you all agree with this?! The origin of evil is the devil therefore and if he had not existed or disobeyed, Adam and Eve would have remained in Paradise forever. I think you still agree with me? The whole question is at the origin of sin, how could the devil disobey in Heaven (a place where sins do not exist) and even at a time when there were no other devils to influence him? That's the first question. To answer that, there is only one possible answer, it is God who had already created sin and allowed the devil to access it even in paradise. Any other conclusion leads to denying certain attributes of God (The only creator, the all-knowing, the all-powerful...). We cannot, for example, say that the Devil created the first sin, and had this drive to disobey God, because that would be equal to saying that God does not know his creation well. So if we are honest with ourselves, follow the logic and admit God's powers, we should conclude that God created the Devil in such a way that he would be the first creature to rebel and disobey (the only possible option). This means that the Devil did not really have "free will". and was meant to represent evil to test humans. If Devil wouldn't have disobeyed, God would have probably created another thing (tool) to test people anyway. My final question is, knowing that God is the Righteous (Al-‘Adl), is it right to punish a creature that He has given him as a mission (indirectly) to test humans by pushing them towards evil?

How can any person believe Islam is true when it was plagiarized from the Torah and gospels ? The following surah proves it : Surah 5:68 Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “O People of the Book! You have nothing to stand on unless you observe the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord.” And your Lord’s revelation to you ˹O Prophet˺ will only cause many of them to increase in wickedness and disbelief. So do not grieve for the people who disbelieve. Now remember Islam was only invented 400 years after the bible and more than that after the Torah Prior to that there was no Islam ....the Arabs were pagan worshippers So whose fooling who ? How can any intelligent Muslim believe that the Quran is true .....when it came from the worst example of a human being who had multiple wives, had married a 6 year old child had sex with her when she was 9 ....had sex with his adopted sons wife after getting his son to divorce her ...just because he lusted after her after he saw her half naked ....ordered people to be killed etc etc etc....the list goes on ..... Can you really trust that such a man was a prophet considering his lifestyle C'mon Muslims ....think man ....please think about all this .....it just doesn't make moral sense .....also According to the Quran: 1. Jesus was born sinless Muhammad was a Sinner . 2. Jesus is in Jannah at Allah's right hand Muhammad is in the Grave . 3 Jesus never kill anyone Muhammad killed lots Now considering that according to the Quran both were prophets Why Follow the sinfully morally bankrupt Muhammad and not the sinless prophet Jesus ,? Dear Jordan Peterson, do some homework of your own on Islam before you take the word of Hamza Yusuf. He is leading you around by the nose and you have no idea what he is saying or doing. He attributes all these questions to Muhammad to the angel Gabriel. This is not the standard Islamic narrative of the revelation of the Qur'an from Allah via Gabriel to Muhammad. What hadith is he referring to? Regarding the relationship between Christianity and Islam, Muslims have completedly reversed the Biblical narrative to produce the narrative they want in order to assert the superiority of Islam over Christianity and every other religion or ideology in the entire world. You ask how you can reconcile Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The answer is you can't. But obviously you do not know enough about Isam even to ask the right questions. Jordan, I have great respect for you but in the name of sanity, wake up!

My two questions aboutIslam are 1. Why do I have to speak arabic to learn and be close to Allah? 2. If we are created by a sole God. Then why do we have to spend life worshiping him, if our purpose is to experience life?

Firstly I appreciate that you asked a question genuinely and not just to mock. 1- You don't have to learn Arabic or read Arabic to get close to Allah (It's recommended) you can read the translation but the problem is Arabic is such a rich language that you can't completely translate it's tone. For example in Urdu if we are talking to a friend we will say "tu" which means you but if we are with our father we say "ap" which also means you but you see there's a slight difference.

2- You don't have to worship him all day all night and become a extremist Muslim even Allah himself don't like that a person leaves his social life and pray 24/7. You have to make money, have family, enjoy life and all other stuff and at the same time you have to pray 5 times a day so that you don't forget about the purpose of life. I can explain for but I don't have the energy to type that much lol

@@muzammilanwar_ Thank you for your reply. I'm not mocking at all, but to learn. I like Islam and intrigued by it. However, I was always told it has to be practised in Arabic and that never made sense to me. If it was to be universal religion. If I am honest. Islam to me does feel in my heart the religion I feel warmest about. But as I mentioned above, not being told I can't practice this religion without speaking Arabic (and my language retention rate is terrible). I also do question circumcision. We are told we are all made in God's image, but we must be circumcised? I am actively looking to find my religion. I was learning about Jehova Wiitness's and doing bible study and then it came to a point where there is a lot of things I strongly disagree with. I'm searching for answers.
