The Unique MMORPG You Should Try In 2022

Ойындар

Mortal Online 2 won't be for everyone and I can understand the barrier for entry in terms of pricing will likely prevent many people from trying it, especially given how the game plays, but I stand by the statement you should try it if you can. It's a game that if you haven't experienced anything similar before will be vastly different than all other MMORPG experiences you've had, while that might not be a good thing for some, for others they will absolutely love it and without trying, you'll never find out if you're missing out on that. It's literally a love it or hate it game and considering how hard it is to find an MMORPG you can truly love, every game that does something different will get my seal of approval to at least give it a go.

I remember when TheHiveLeader messaged me a year or two ago that he’d spent several hours recording video footage *with* audio for an upcoming video, and he hadn’t realized he had his mic muted the entire time. So he scrapped the entire video idea as to not force it a second time. We’ve all done it. All we can hope for is to never do it again. Even though we undoubtedly will. Lmao.

Problem is the gank-brigades that exist outside the starter zone. The theory behind everything is nice, but the reality that you have half the population functionally sabotaging the extended experience spells the same problem the original, Darkfall, and others ran into. The game kills off it's own player base.

@@KiraTV1 With two other studios aside from Aventurine, it's hard for me to share that opinion. Generally speaking to something that is more systemic than that one title any ways. It's a recurring issue for any full loot open pvp MMO, and any unique issues Darkfall may have does not detract from the common trend every title in the genre shares. Forest for the trees and all that. Edit: can reference Josh Strife Hayes on that one a bit. He has a video expounding on the subject. It's a bit of an issue with being a self-cannibalizing design.

An issue is how a lot of weapon heads and handles were interchangeable in the first game and this was removed in Mo2. This means that you can't level 2h pole handles or 2h sword handles with the 1h blades, you'll have to read both 2h handle and blades just to be able to use either parts and especially since they probably did not bother to think of combining those two skills (handle and weapon head). About the graveyard loop. I hope that they will bring out more content to have something other than just zombies. One other thing that people should know is that items have Durability that decreases as you use them and eventually they will break. An option to repair items will be added later down the road, but that will still cost a significant amount of resources. So the game's entire economy is based on the fact that items are not permanent. Losing items in PvP is definitely not the same as losing an item in a theme park MMO. Also, similarly to Albion Online, you will not be running around in your best gear all the time. When you go into the wilderness by yourself to gather, tame or just on a solo adventure, you will take some decent gear that you can afford to lose and you will leave your best gear into the bank. There are also builds with high movement speed which give you a lot of freedom in choosing when and who you fight. Your character's weight also affects how fast your mount will run. So there are definitely ways to avoid dying or losing less when you do die even when playing solo (but ideally you find yourself a nice guild).

It is somewhat playable on GTX 1060 3gb, 6GB version will rung it much better though. I played half a year ago on my 1060 3GB, since then game was optimized a lot, but I currently have RTX3070. With RTX 2060 or GTX1080 even 1070 you will run the game. Obviously fights we had like 90vs70 and more will force you to drop details and possibly ressolution heavily to have somewhat decent FPS, but they got money from Epic Games which will speed up their implementation of Unreal Engine 5 into this game, that will help FPS a lot and make game even pretier.

Like meaningful social interactions, politics, base building, adrenaline rush while fighting (people who never experienced that can NEVER imagine what its like), because there isnt a wipe of the map and i just coudnt imagine how this game woud work. Anyway in a middle of this video i just went and pre-ordered it because i 100% believe i will not be playing anything other then this for a loooong time. Albion Online has been a massive success only growing it's playerbase over the years and is full loot PVP. The MO2 beta has had a steady 1k+ daily active players for the 6months I've been playing it. While a lot of people who aren't ready for full loot PVP will likely ragequit, I really doubt they will have trouble sustaining a healthy size playerbase. The market is only growing with recent games like Myth of Empires also being really popular.

If you are looking to be more solo oriented player, just train for mounted combat, its OP af in small scale, and if youre unmounted combat vs a mounted (any combat) youll just get floored in a 1 v 1. Unmounted has its uses for sure, like fighting inside dungeons, castles or any spot where being mounted is a hinderance but for 98% of the world its the best.

This is true, however there are some caveats to that. First, FF14 also has a really generous free trial and afaik MO2 doesn't. Second, it's a barrier to entry. And while that's not a huge deal with FF14 because of the trial and it's wider appeal, it can definitely be a problem for a game like MO2 that's a full loot pvp mmo (a niche sub-genre of an already niche genre) where the players ARE the content. Not saying it should be free to play or that sub fee can't work or anything like that. Just saying there's some key differences here. Just because it works for FF14 doesn't mean it will work for MO2.

An EU player can consistently pull of last second parries, even after blocking the wrong direction. Recently they have updated their hardware and it seems to be a better experience than before. Keep in mind I haven't pvp'ed as much recently. There is an unlisted video that shows a testing of different regional ping, idk if I can link tho due to possible KZread bot moderation.

Also you need a somewhat decent PC, specially the GPU. My 580 was really going full jet engine just to reach 60fps at slightly higher than medium graphics. And as a core mechanic it has the first person camera thing. If you're susceptible to that, motion, or any of that (I am not, but in this game is different I don't know why), then beware. I liked the idea of open world PvP, however the combat felt so clunky and so unrefined, with poor animations and with being very slow in general that I just couldn't get over it to really enjoy the game. It feels much worse than combat in New World. Plus I really wasn't digging the whole "generic medieval fantasy" art style, especially after playing so many other games with it. I just want to see something else other than sword bashing, especially with so few futuristic MMOs. Still, though, people should definitely give this a try, things I dislike may be irrelevant to others and game may still be enjoyable to them.

If you don't like the directional melee combat you might enjoy playing as a beastmaster (similar to ARK, tame pets and command them to attack people) or a mage (plays like a hitscan FPS). From my personal experience the melee combat only felt clunky when I was a total noob and had no clue what I was doing, especially since things like missing your swings are intentionally really punishing, but once you start to get the hang of it melee combat actually feels pretty fluent.

It is very different experience and feels like one of those games where you can get a 2nd life. I never liked those kind of survival games but Mortal Online 2 still captured my attention. However after playing alpha version i would only play it again if i can get decen GPU. My poor GTX 1060 (6gb) was screaming while being on fire even on low settings and game loses a lot of "magic" if it is on low setting and still runs on low fps.

Really needs to be driven home how little getting killed and losing a set of gear means in this game. There's nothing anyone can take from you in MO2 that you can't get back in five minutes, unless you forget to bank your shit before leaving town which is basically the same as playing OSRS walking into the wildy with your entire gold stack. Beyond that there are armies of players who want to play at being cops in this game, defending innocent randoms from gankers.

Bought the game on release day, got to play a couple hours. Not been able to log on since then, literally spent an entire 24 hours in the login queue before giving up. The game looks good from the couple of hours I played. They need to sort the login queues though.

Not gonna lie, once you said "no microtransactions," I became much more interested in this game. That is so rare for an MMO that it is genuinely praise worthy, and it shouldn't be. If I can play and feel like my progression in all forms isn't being hampered to sell me something, I'll at least give it a try.

Monthly sub is basically a macro transaction you get nothing for but them fixing their game, like they had to do over years with MO1 ^^

Oh man, I remember something like Mortal Online back in the day.. Don't remember what game it was for sure.. I remember spending the larger part of a whole day inside the starter city, killing some weaker mobs and following some sort of tutorial. Then later on entering the wilderness and running into "hunter parties" roaming the lands on mounts. Being a fresh newbie, they actually left me alone and let me watch how they operated. It was fascinating for sure. I even remember traveling a looooong ass way to another huge city, and it being absolutely PACKED with people trading and crafting. I remember always feeling like everything could be stripped away at any moment, and it was kind of a badass experience. It was so fresh and new. Anyone know which game this was? Darkfall? The first Mortal Online? This was ages ago.
