With a likely body length of around 5m (16ft) and weights of between 250-300kg (551-661lb), this was a raptor larger than a tiger and as big as a large grizzly bear. What’s more, based on its disproportionately large and robust hindlimbs (being comparable in thickness to theropods double its size), it is apparent that Achillobator wasn’t just large, but also exceptionally powerful for its size, likely being capable of killing prey as large or larger than itself. Such size and strength would have allowed it to be a genuine apex predator of its environment of late Cretaceous China and Mongolia, just as Utahraptor had been before it in North America.

Still baffles me how the recent JW movies keep showing off hybrids when there's like a limitless number of dinosaur species out there that can meet pretty much any movie monster specification. Why the Indoraptor when they can get Achillobator or Megaraptor? Why Indominus Rex when the novels themselves present Carnotaurus with the exact same abilities. 🦖

I love how Utah State fossil is the allosaurus, it's just like why not have to be the Utahraptor it has Utah in the name, also you could do Utahceratops as well well

Not as big, it's a good bit smaller, achillobater is around 450-650lbs while Utah is around 800-1200lbs, close but not the same

Not this crazy Aussie thinking this was going to be about Australovenator. The largest known Australian Therapod/ megaraptor/ Little Polar allosaur/ Giant Sized dromeosaur (whatever science thinks it is now) in a land that has many discovered sauropods. I enjoyed this from start to finish anyway. Thank you 🧡

Haha you serious dromasaurs were very small the tallest was only 6 feet inches that being denichus and utahraptor. Raptors and theropods have very dull claws but still sharp enough to leave a cut . No they couldnt kill a therthinsasaurs even in a pack
