Thanks a lot. Both cars made for different purposes Go for the creta I'd suggest... Much more suited for Indian families and roads. Choose the city if you get chauffeur driven.

Nice.. so many reviews online but only you touched on the perceived build quality of the car and that it feels well out together than the prev gen.. does it take small hits we get in the city limits well? Or the bumper comes off with a scooter touching it? Any owners/users can advise?

One of my friend has been the owner of this and honda does keep up the quality. A minor hit will give you a scratch or a dent.

@@AutoShotsIndia thank you.. seen some videos on you tube at least till the 4th Gen where the bumper quality has been questionable.. though overall safety is good.. but if we have to keep running to the service Center for minor incidents then makes it a difficult car to maintain.. that was my concern.. that’s why I was undecided on booking this car..

@@darsatdays749 1. A scooty hit from back due to sudden braking of car (minor scratch, removed it by using powder colgate) 2. A scooty hit the rear left door while taking a turn, minor hit ( scooty driver was almost about to fall & caused long scratch and very minor dent but scratch got removed by using scratch remover or you can use powder colgate as well but that will take more time and effort and it should be necessarily in powder form. & after scratch got removed the dent gone almost invisible due to white color & pearl coating of car) 3. A dog hit the front bumper, minor hit (deep but very small scratch, almost negligible) 4. Renault Duster hit right corner of rear bumper, minor hit (no scratch, nothing happened) After many months, none of the scratch is visible except that dog hit deep scratch which is negligible. Also dent is almost invisible until you willingly want to see that from a particular angle) All thanks to *Pearl* coating & *White* colour of the car

You didn't talk about the front parking sensors? Whether they are factory installed? And thet too white color. They are good to have.

Honda City already has great visibility, you actually don't need sensors unless you do some close parking through your gate. Secondly, they are sound indicated only. The faster it beeps, the closer you are.

1) Those were the front sensors, water splash was quite heavy. 2) No, it cannot be turned off. It's mandated by the Govt. Reference: Come July 1, 2019, all cars on sale in India will be required to come fitted with a speed warning system. The speed warning system is an audible warning that sounds a beep when the vehicle exceeds a certain speed. As per standards prescribed by the Indian government, the warning is to sound for at least 1 cycle per 2 minutes when the vehicle exceeds 80kph, and then continuously for at least 1 cycle per 2 seconds when the vehicle exceeds 120kph. The system cannot be switched off or overridden. Only police vehicles, ambulances and vehicles certified with a top speed less than 80kph are exempt from the requirement of the speed warning system. Major drawback of City is no rear adjustable headrest, infotainment system is lagging, cabin plastic quality is not good, no wirless charging, gear knob design it looks normal, no ventilated seats and no brand audio system... these all things honda need to improve in future.

branded audio system is just a gimmick. city"s audio system is better than verna or ciaz. while just look at competition eg verna gets rear seat space of a hatchback while is a segan and hyundai"s well known no low feedback stearing

@@mayur3530 where is you driving licence? Hyundai have worst stearing you could get. They are popular know as boat. Light weight is not a great thing if feedback is shit. City got better feedback and has direct stearing wheel only problem is tires. They are too thin and offer lesser grip. Vtec beats the shit out of the verna when comes to performance check 0-100 figures. Engine life of verna is not even half of city. Only 3 kids car sit in verna and every car type has its own characteristic. Sedans are most comfortable in back seat and verna feels like hatchback. Only this hyundai is good at is noise levels. Seltos crash test revealed thier true colours Honda is more safer. Honda brand value is more than hyundia’s. Hyundai is no where near honda. Leader since 20+ years.

Verna, city or skoda .. which one is more value for money ? If base varients are compared ?

Nice review. If a buyer is used to driving a creta manual for 5 years, how will he feel when he drives CITY petrol manual ?? Will he miss CRETA or will it be a welcome change for him ? Will ride and handling be better than creta ???

City is surely refined, but you will find it small. You will surely miss the driving experience when you hit some bad roads. Finally, that's the benefit of have a BIG car. I'd suggest upgrade to the new Creta / Seltos, if you can.

Seltos is the one for you. Cabin Feels Premium, spacious, feels powerful, Great Handling and is balanced enough. You'll should get better features in the Seltos at 15lacs ( ex showroom ) than the Creta. Also looks like you like to drive, so i suggest buy a car with good interiors. That's the place you spend most of your time. Seltos Brother.

If you want to buy Verna for its sporty nature then buy Verna SX (O) because that Verna has good handling than other Verna variants due to ESP, Traction control, brake assist etc.

City 2020 is the better one to drive. Verna Turbo DCT 2020 is a quieter car, inside the cabin.

Unless you want macho looking cars, go for any proper sedan, all of them are great! As the name suggests, honda city is made for city, a schauffer driven car. If you want you family to sleep well on long drives, this is the car. I used to drive Nissan Micra before. Although its a pretty decent car, my 3yr old used to vomit on long drives due to its very stiff suspension, tractor Diesel sound and poor cabin insulation. When it was time to sold Micra, I tried multiple cars and compact SUVs(what else can we call them?) under 10-18 lacs. The only big car I liked were Duster and Kicks due to their extremely good ride quality but they have their own after sales issues. When none of so called SUVs could meet my requirements, I went straight for Honda City without a doubt. The only hesitation I had was with ground clearance. But few test drives on pretty bad roads cleared all my doubts. Also ask yourself, how often (% of journey time) you encounter bad roads which throw you off, cannot be tackled, unavoidable, scrapes etc. Also notice that Indian roads are getting improved rapidly.

CVT is way more powerful than a manual.. Just put the car in Sports mode and use the paddle shifters - when you are in sport mode and using paddle shifters.. CVT wouldn't increase the gear without your knowledge but in Drive mode, it does which is good..

Wont agree on the power! CVT gearbox is works like the one in an Honda Activa, basically belt driven. Instead of a rubber belt there is a metal one. The gear changing feel is purposely added by companies to get rid of the rubber band effect while driving. I could agree to you on the feel, Honda has been doing CVTs very well.

infotainment stopped working on 3 day had to be removed for replacement. the milege has come down from 14km/lt to 8km/lt after first service. the side passenger door needs to shut hard to close.

@@sriaryanvikas 1. for the left front door, ask service guy they can fix that by some nut bolt adjustment. Don't let them spray grease anywhere. 2. For the mileage issue, don't worry the mileage is same but the way it is showing mileage got different. Initially it used to show higher mileage first. Now it is showing lowest mileage first. As you keep on driving, the mileage shown on meter will keep on increasing. But, just drive in between 2000 to 3000 rpm. Don't drive below 1600 rpm except in 1st gear.

Still believe 2017 City model is best rather than some fancy features in new one. And old V model would be the best choice for value for money.

The noise maybe due to plastic bottle, due to tool kit in luggage, due to front or rear number plate or due to loose sunshades or due to anything placed in glovebox and hand rest storage and coin holder and cup holder. If you really want to confirm the ratteling tha remove everything from the car and then drive it on bad roads

I drive the New Honda City 2020 VX MT Petrol Radiant Red. Penning down some of my observations in hope that it can help other potential buyers: 1. Pros: a. First Things First - Ground Clearance is NOT a Problem AT ALL unless one intends to go OFF the road on a trail with Large rocks and highly uneven terrain. I have driven on bad roads/ sometimes barely a road/ Large Potholes and the car hasn't touched the ground Yet. NOTE: I have driven with Max 4 People with limited Luggage in Boot. Maybe with a full trunk and max seating capacity, there could be an issue, but I think the whole GC issue is being blown Out of proportion in the New Honda City. Its totally Fine b. Driving Pleasure - Highly refined Engine, Light Clutch, Fast Gear Shifts, Highly responsive Steering. The Engine has a wonderful revving sound(Which I have read some people say is a demerit as it creates cabin noise), which keeps the driver excited. Not many gear shifts needed. Car drives beyond 80KMPH in 3rd Gear easily c. Cabin Quality - Cabin is functional and is definitely more luxurious compared to cars in the same price range. Its spacious too. d. Cost - The Models for Creta and Seltos with VSM, Hill Assist comes at 16Lakhs+. City has the same safety features from the Base Model itself. Nexon with similar Safety features is priced ~12.5 Lakhs(On Road, depending on city might vary a bit). City's price lands in the middle of current sub compact SUVs and Compact SUVs. It’s a steal if you ask me. e. Safety - ASEAN NCAAP 5 Star Rated, 6 Air Bags. 2. Cons a. No Front Parking Sensors - Being a Long Car, I feel the Front Parking sensors should have come out of the Box but I had to shell out additional 10K from the dealership to get it fitted b. Infotainment System - Gets the job done but in bright sunlight, the screen isn't clear. The Koreans have a much more intuitive and Clear screens c. Mileage - I have been getting 10-12Km/L Mileage till now having driven it on the Highway, City and Western Ghats. Being a City, I expected higher.

If you carefull watch, at the end of bonnet there is slight hump, so if there is dust or sand falling front truck driving ahead of you then those dust and sand don't directly hit the windscreen, this proves that air is flowing in upward direction due to that bonnet hump at the end. This is called attention to detail towards aerodynamics

Brother, kindly try to be neutral during reviews. You can’t call the old asymmetrical “hideous”. It serves a purpose of user friendliness and ergonomics. It makes the drivers job much easier. Honda applied it to the entire range for the same reason. Appreciate the details in the review overall. City remains the best for years.

Hey you are completely deteriorating old city vs this one ....where as the previous generation also was dam cool ....and awesome interior. Which looks more futuristic then this one as far as interiors are concerned.......you should properly compare this with competition.....only as all generations of city where best in there own times ....get that right first.

hyundai kia group launched seltos and got 2 star while honda"s smaller sedan amaze got 4 star still want to compare build quality? hyundai did'nt even send thier verna (indian version) to ncap. engine quality matter too! verna might not survive more than 1,50,000 while city can do 3,00,000 easily. ivtec wins!

Accident situation par depend karte hai speed or kiss chiz se impact hua hai to uspar bolna vese bhi baseless hai. Seltos premium crossover mein aati hai or 2 star hyundai kia group ki asliyat dikhati hai. Verna sirf dikhti sporty hai par stearing feedback itna bekar. City 20+ years se segment king hai koi to vajeh hogi
