    yes, parental authority diminishes naturally in a healthy relationship, but not always, so we need to make it diminish so that when the person is grown up, he is capable of being independent.

    It's bullshit that animals have more right in America than our own children do. Enough is enough, children deserve to have the same basic human rights that we adults take for granted. We Americans also take our freedom for granted. Those of us who never served in the military that is.

    Here I am - with a right for love A musical statement on child protection and children's rights. A song for love, respect and security. Children have contributed to the text of the song "Here I Am" by defining what "child safety" means for them. They sing this song from their perspective. "Let's live in peace and dignity (...) Warmth, shelter, love, and care, no one should have to despair." SOS Child Protection Song Music & Lyrics: Frank Posch

    parental rights is the new-speak(Orwellian) term for parental authority, because a child is a human being separate from his or her parents. and "parental rights" basically give authority to the parents

    @thomaspaine2000 These rights are there guide states to ensure that every child has what they need. There's no actual legal mechanism to prosecute under the treaty, so there's no threat to sovereignty. Its a reassurance from your government that they are working towards children's rights. When it's you and Somalia vs the rest of the world, you may need to reconsider what side you're on.

    Child abuse should not be condoned in any society no matter what. There are a range of ironies and controversies within most CJS's across the world that do still infringe rights of the child. The majority of the countries in the world have ratified this UNCRC, there are still two countries that have not; Somalia and USA. I have made a petition to help prevent a 12-year-old receiving a LWOP

    "The animation is aimed at children". Really ? Mmh. I think grown ups, very big and important people should watch these 2 simple minutes. Sometimes I dream that like in the story of Stephen King we, sad, bad, useless and silly grown ups would all disappear, leaving only children and youth under 18. I'm sure they would manage better without us. Thanks for this video, sometimes I need to believe there are texts that may change the world.

    They seem to ignore the actually abused kids and have turned it all into a child marketing racket by falsely accusing mostly indigent people that can't afford to fight back - wake up. I'm not for abuse, those kids need help, but I am against tearing families apart simply because you're poor or somebody doesn't like your style of living or your values.

    @natashiamerie Government doesn't own kids. Parents don't own "their" kids. You can't own another person: that is called slavery. Children should be allowed to live and prosper in healthy and safe ways until their mind is mature enough to make their own decisions regarding "their" life. This is what they are trying to achieve.

    The old saying of "Children should only be seen but not heard" is WRONG. Children should have the right to question adults because sometimes adults will take advantage of children by telling them what to do when they want to do something else. There a couple exceptions to this hence children misbehaving or not wanting to go to school, but other than that children should have the freedom to do what they want to do outside of school and when they misbehave.

    one needs to have teaching certificate to teach a kid to read and do math? come on, that is so asinine. so long as the kid passes the standardized testing all's well. and your right, it is about parental authority. an authority that is completely justifiable and wholesome. i'm more scared of lunatics telling others how to live their lives and run their families... that's just unhealthy.

    spanking is assult and is never reasonable, you would get your ass handed to you in court if you do it to someone who is not your kid. as far as homeschooling, that should definately be banned because that compromises a child's chance to be educated, only proffesional teachers should be allowed to homeschool, as for religious instruction, that is legal, but a parent may nor force it.

    @apologeticsman First off, it's funny because the bible says that the Earth is roughly aged 6000 years old. So it is impossible for your books to be more than 9000 years ago. Secondly, the other religions think the same of your religion as being fake and made up by the likes of you. You both claim to be right whereas evidence is pointing that neither of you are correct. It's funny because you really do not see the contradictions and inconsistencies of the bible you so love.

  • @Ashelirria

    @apologeticsman You fail at reasoning and even in history. Before the bible was even written there were already many religions, so how can you claim that these religions copied your fairytale? When evil and good do not exist either in their absolute sense. You sir are deluded.

    The child's rights, are to be born and hear about GOD and JESUS! All children have the right to be born! As to be born without the risk of being murdered !! In the whole world! "Human rights" is to live in a country that fear and honor God in Heaven! Such human rights should be a given for all children! The children and young people get to experience in this country today, is nothing but submission of a vicious dictatorship. Everything is controlled in one direction, how nice it sounds is governed by "democratic elections". Regardless of party, so all have the same mission, to exclude, to explain away and hide the Christian message in the country. Children's rights are to hear about Jesus Christ in preschool and school. To hear about God created Heaven and Earth! Instead it is a false doctrine of evolution, as there is no evidence at all, in nature. "The fact" about the big bang, as "a natural theory of Earth's origins", is not fact, but a big, fat lie! It has indoctrinated the children's brains, for decades now. Talk about brainwashing of children, high-level, from government-funded school. This is a dictatorial, anti-Christian rule! Destroy such a rule over the country! Not to give children the right to hear about God, is child abuse, and nothing else. Ben Nilsson, Sweden

    No that is NOT the definition of totalitarianism. google it. if the state is legislating a distancing of parental control from their children who is exercising authority over families internal dynamics? you are creating the strawman suggesting since a minority of parents are abusive, therefore all parents have too much power. by extension, your implying all parents are unable to discern reasonable force without the rule of the state. indeed, these are non sequiturs as well as strawmen.

  • @Ashelirria
    @Ashelirria13 жыл бұрын

    @IndyB25 Rights do not exist, they're just formality created by the humans just to make it "official". Secondly, people are free to do whatever they, now law can stop you to do what you wish for the only obstacle is yourself since you make that decision. You're free just as anyone else, but fighting for "freedom" is the stupidest thing you could do, oh wait you're American! You're whole country is based on such a flawed concept. Forget me then my words are wasted on you.

  • @Clammypollack
    @Clammypollack14 жыл бұрын

    This treaty must be opposed by all Americans. It will cause our nation to lose its sovereignty to the UN. We already have laws protecting children and courts specifically designed to uphold those laws. Any ratified treaty automatically becoomes the law of the land and our own laws and American parents will be scrutinized by some foreign officials. They make it sound pretty but it is ugly and it undermines the rights of American parents and US law. OPPOSE IT if you love your freedom.

  • @Clammypollack
    @Clammypollack13 жыл бұрын

    Oppose this travesty of a treaty. I'm sure some third world countries which don't have all the protections in place like we do in America could use the treaty. We don't need it. We have family courts, child protective services and mandatory reporting of any suspected abuse or neglect. This treaty seeks to take away the rights of American parents to direct the upbringing of their children and it hands those rights to the UN. This is evil and would undermineone of the foundations of America

  • @Kalahridudex
    @Kalahridudex14 жыл бұрын

    there is a fucking straw man right there! i never said kids should spy on there family as Orwell described in 1984, i said kids should have more individual rights. i never staid kids should belong to the state either, also, how is parents having to much power NOT totalitarian?isnt that like the definition of totalitarianism, people in authority controlling absurdly too many aspects of people's lives?

  • @Kalahridudex
    @Kalahridudex14 жыл бұрын

    these people only know how to make strawmen.

  • @kdurston1
    @kdurston114 жыл бұрын

    so you seriously believe a 5 your old child can understand, exercise and critically review their so called individual rights? or are you going to suggest a government agency to assist kids in working said actions. by necessity you are giving power to the state rather than the child. your logic doesn't pan out. you can say your trying to help kids, but every outcome ends in usurping parental authority and giving it to the unaccountable state.

  • @kdurston1
    @kdurston114 жыл бұрын

    here again, you have not done your research. parental authority naturally diminishes with time anyway. thus your suggestion is moot. you seem to presuppose that power is a negative trait. "newspeak" if you will. yet you promote kids "rights" being entrusted to the power of the state and the UN, where parents have no input into the policies and "rights" being imposed.

  • @kdurston1
    @kdurston114 жыл бұрын

    children are not separate from their parents. children are the sole province of their family, not the state. your ideas are completely totalitarian... reminiscent of the fascists and communists. "those pesky parents and their backward ideas, we need to protect the next generation from them." Orwell was criticizing YOUR beliefs about the family, not ours. Maybe you should actually read Orwells' collected works before throwing his name about on such a topic.

    @apologeticsman Are you insane? Are you really that blinded by your own religion? Do you realise that what you write here is nonsense to the extreme? You're inventing "facts" out of the blue to defend your bible (although i did not expect any less than from religious like yourself) and i am quite sure you'd also kill for it blind folded if we were still in medieval times during the crusades. You'd do it without questioning your own beliefs and just go with what your leaders tell you to do.
