Thats awesome, cool video, I do the same thing with a Ugreen 5 in 1 hub and my PNY 480gb portable SSD. I have the Jsaux modcase so i just strap it all too the back of my deck nice tight n neatly tuck the cables in.. but it works great and still portable enough to carry around using it and even setting it down with the kickstand,

Nice. I looked it up it looks pretty compact for a hub. Just wish Valve made two ports on the Steam Deck it would solve all the problems. Hope we will get it when Steam Deck 2 comes out.

I'm assuming you've moved on to Windeck, right? Did you notice any perfomance drops or SIGNIFICANT battery lack for the games, like playtime that you've "used" to have is now just gone? How well does it handle "locking/unlocking" the screen?

I’m still running Windows on the external SSD, in general it’s been good. But you don’t have the same level of control as Steam OS. Intense gameplays do tend to stutter a bit but I don’t feel like it’s a dealbreaker. Forget about long play time, I pretty much need to plug it in all the time. For example Fallout 4 lasts about 1 hours if I play only on battery. Locking/unlocking is okay I haven’t had issues with it.

@@bboy349833591 You're the best man, thank you! I already have a decent laptop and huge rig for 3d/design stuff. I guess the Windows solution in case for deck is the perfect thing if you don't have anything else around, for example if you dont want to overpay for a gaming laptop and want a device that is much more mobile. Still you didn't answer about Windeck, will you be trying to use it instead of default Win 11? Great video overall dude!

I highly recommend the OLED model. But if you are really on a tight budget the LCD model is still a great buy. But I think the OLED model is the best choice, it’s definitely worth the upgrade.

    why not dual boot ?

Basically I didn’t want to spend more on a larger SSD as I’ve already got the 512GB. If I were to dual boot I’d need at least 1TB. The other thing is I don’t want to wipe my Steam OS and partition the drive, it’s a bit more involved setting up dual boot. Maybe someday in the future I will give it a go. 🙂
