Absolutely love the title Strong Life Bull...both my parents and my "in-laws" (never considered that title as long as I have had the honor of knowing them) are cut from the same clothe. Fortunately, I have acquire the same trait. Work hard at whatever you do. Never too important for a small task...and never back away from a project. Just be smart enough to know when you need an expert to get done correctly. Love that bar...keep enjoying the fruit of all of your labors! Cheers!

Wow! You answered so many of my never asked out loud SLB questions! For one, I now know what SLB stands for - and love it! It also looks like we enjoy many of the same things too - Bardstown is yummy! You have also helped with another current debate in the house - how to arrange our almost 400 bottles of American whiskey and bourbon in our soon to be basement and pool room bar. (We’ll worry about the other much less in number alcohols - scotch, Irish, Japanese, gin, rum, mixers, etc. - later.) Thanks to you it looks like I’ll be revising a few ideas! As an aside, we have a belief that whiskey, et al, is meant to be shared and enjoyed so ALMOST no bottle is off limits to visitors to the basement. I have a feeling you’re the same way. Again, love it! Thanks for your channel, tour and ideas! Keep ‘em coming… and the cocktail recipes. Yum!

Sounds like your basement is going to be phenomenal! The bottles are not to stack in a corner and never open or in hopes of reselling for big profits. Part of the journey is sharing.

Amazing collection! All the way down to the bottom of the Scotch shelf...Deanston 12, Singleton 15, Springbank!!!! WOW!!!!! That Bardstown Collection is just jaw dropping awesomeness!!! That reserve closet at the end was a bonus!!!! You are very lucky to have access to those hard to find bottles. Oh, that Wild Turkey Master's Keep Collection, OMG!!! I could go on. JD Single Barrel, Barrel Proof??? Wow!!!!!! The Whiskey Advocate scored Barrel Craft high points just recently. I just read it yesterday. A lot of new Bottles I haven't heard of scoring high. Get them before they're gone.

Thanks for the tour and background info. Glenmorangie was my into to scotch. A friend had a half different bottles and said we should have a tasting. I've been enjoying it ever since.

I have been watching your channel for a year or so and just watched the tour of your bar and saw you have Empress Gin. That is one of the best Gins and I am lucky enough to live 10 minutes away from the distillery. Always surprises me how well they have marketed it around the world from Sidney BC. Man, what an awesome selection, and beautiful home. As proud as I am of my own modest home, simply because it is bought and paid for, it is pretty small and space is scarce. My whiskey shelves consist of two eight foot shelves two tiers deep, which holds about a hundred bottles +/-. When the selection starts to overflow, I take between five to ten open bottles that I know I will never drink and I give them away. I would love to build an outbuilding to house the whiskey selection and a bar and pool table, but my kids are still at home and there ALWAYS seems to be something else to spend the money on,.. oh well, they're older teenagers already so maybe some day.

Really enjoy the education you are giving me..... My wife also enjoys the Martinis I've learn to make. Whenever she discovers a new drink at a resturant , I try to make it at home, which tends to expand my liqour in my small bar.... I may have to move some of her glasses soon to make room for more types of liqour in the future...

Today I got: Old Forester 1920 Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit Crown Royal 16 Year Rye Woodford Reserve Distillers Select Woodford Reserve Double Oakes (Total Wine) Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve Russel's Reserve Single Barrel Four Roses Small Batch The SLB Bar is something to aspire to. I may never have something like it but I'm off to a solid start.

Sir, this is an incredible collection and the diversity is insane too. If I could recommend any one thing it would be to pursue some aged armagnacs, especially because you can get very high age statements unavailable in other spirit classes at anywhere close to the same price. Not to mention they seem in your wheelhouse in terms of taste -- stone fruit, oak, sherry notes, thick and syrupy and just incredible on the nose. Great video.

I was curious about the SLB so that history took care of that. Thank you. Also, thanks for the extensive home basement bourbon bar tour with extended living room shelves and office closet shelves as well. I liked seeing the rum, tequila, and gin but noticed there wasn't any vodka. I'm sure that is intentional. Back in the early 80's I bartended a millionaire clientele piano bar called The Orchestra Lounge. Arnold came in one afternoon and asked if I had any Austrian vodka. I replied that Stolichnaya was the best on hand. He grimaced and said that was like drinking Russian piss water. I asked him if he still wanted some. He said, "Make it a double and don't tell anyone that I'm here." He always sat in the dark corner.

That’s an awesome story!! I actually do have a few vodkas but it is my least favorite spirit in the bar. I usually carry a Tito’s and Kettle one. Other than that I think I have a hammer and sickle.

I'm at 9 bottles of bourbon! Some vodka, rum and tequila. I don't have enough room for a de facto bar - I'd have to give up the living room (we also have a family room), and the wife said "N-O.....NO!" LOL!

First off - Amazing collection - both depth and breadth. It shows you have a far wider palate of taste than most people. Secondly - Thanks for the video. I will use this in my defense from my wife, who thinks my collection (~120 bottles) is too big. Thirdly - You are doing a disservice to that Glengoyne 21 bottle. It is akin to putting Babe Ruth on the 1932 Boston Red Sox. If you need help working on that bottle, give me a shout. Lastly, I too am a Gin fanatic. Scotland has some fantastic offerings. -Rose Rock comes from near John O'Groats, or ~15 miles from Scapa, where Highland Park is distilled. -The Botanist comes from Bruichladdich, which you have a few bottles. mes

That very well might be a good idea for a future show. The syrup and juice jars both were purchased on Amazon. The double rocks glasses I purchased some time ago on Bed Bath and Beyond website. I have, however, purchased a number of my bar glassware at antique or goodwill stores. You would be surprised what you can find for little money. Thanks so much for the kind words!

What inspired you to appreciate all forms of good quality spirits, and then motivate you to go put this much into it. It’s very impressive. That would also be a good topic for a future video….

Great tour! Some bottles to look out for: Springbank 12 Cask Strength. For Tequila try the G4 108 proof. An outstanding high proof Tequila for sipping.

Great tour thank you sir! Newby bourbon collector here but do have a rum suggestion (for what it's worth), Kill Devil Gold (Outer Banks Distillery). This rum is aged for 18months is A Smith Bowman barrels and drinks more like a bourbon. Love your content.

Kurt, another great video! Your mother sounds like my mother. She is 81 years old and still mows the lawn cleans the gutters 🙄, I am always like “mom call me” . She never does it’s a German 🇩🇪 thing. Beautiful bar and great collection! Did you build the bar or did you have it done? I am about to build a bar or a hidden “speakeasy “ type room. Haven’t decided yet. If you like a great sipping tequila I highly recommend Cava de Oro Extra Anejo! There are more expensive ones but this is the smoothest and most complex tequila I have had. Amuerte if you like gin is my favorite. I had it when I was in Italy I believe it is made in Belgium. Chai Rum - The rum of the oceans is my favorite. Sorry for the long comment. I share your passion lol. Thanks again for taking the time to share your bar with us!.
