    Perhaps a battle where each of the normals celebrate their favorite food item? Jamie with steak, Barry with avocado, and Mike with peanut butter. You could call it the Ultimate Favorite Food battle!

    Things I love: - Barry's chopping skills 😲 - Jaime's swinging of hips while fanning out the smoke: unnecessary (I mean you can still just flap the tea towel while standing still) but pretty much adorable - James' ability to bring the whole dish together, and the plating of course - The way all 3 of them contributed to the dish by playing on each of their strengths - How well the video was edited (that second you see/hear the steak go into the pan wow) and the music choices were also great

    That chimichurri looked really good! I will say, every time I've had chimichurri, it's been a bit different. I've had some that were thick like a pesto, others more thin and runny (in a good way). I would almost compare it to a pizza sauce, not in flavor, but in how different the preparation is depending on where you go and what kind of place you're getting it from.

  • @blatinobear

    @blatinobear

    3 жыл бұрын

    skippymagrue Yes, Chimichurri is from Argentina and it’s amazing, but it’s a big no-no to put it on steak. It’s meant to go on choripan (chorizo sandwiches) and bondiola (grilled pork). It’s a poor-man’s side enjoyed in your neighborhood’s equivalent to pubs and bbq stands. Brazilians, who are the most common tourists to Argentina, took the idea and ran with it, and started featuring it in expensive rodizios (churrasquerias like Fogo de Chao). It then spread throughout the world as a steak condiment. It works, but it’s as unauthentic as Taco Bell, fortune cookies, and colander strained egg fried rice. A proper chimichurri is almost red and marinaded at least for days. It’s not a “fresh” condiment in Argentina. But it is delicious.

    I feel like here in Argentina we don't usually see green chimi, I've only seen the red, and it's commonly made out of dry spices like oregano, chilli flakes, garlic, dry parsley, bay leaves, oil and vinegar and obvs salt. It's good just made, but if you leave it for a few days and even weeks it's SO much better. There's actually no recipe, you just use whatever dry herbs you have at home and it's always good

    Suggestion for Pass it on: Suprise Fusion: Write a number of countries on pieces of paper and chuck em in a Hat. Then the first person in the kitchen picks one at random and Cooks the main dissh, followed by the second person. Between the second person and the third person the kitchen needs to be cleaned. Then the 3rd person picks a country out of the hat and cooks the side dish followed by the 4. person. Then the 5. person gets to finish the dish by bringing the 2 creation together. Maybe adjust the time for each person so the dishes can be done by only 2 persons each.
