The Ultimate Swag Review - Darche Dusk to Dawn, Kings Big Daddy Deluxe & Darche 1550+

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Come along for this episode where I review some of the most popular swags sold here in Australia.
Starting from a Bikers Swag, we work our way through the Darche Dusk to Dawn which is one of the most popular single swags! Next up is the Kings Big Daddy Deluxe which is definitely the most mainstream and popular swag to ever exist. Its a solid competitor and great value for money. Finally we have a look through the Darche 1550+ which is arguably the fanciest swag on the market!

Camping in Western Australia and doing a trip around, the shelter is meant to be for sleeping, and sleeping well and comfortably. It’s not meant to be a house, and would be best suited when effort and time to set it up and keep it is kept to minimum. Swags beat every other shelter options including roof top tents. Far more sheltered if you pop it under an awning/tarp, and a piece of tarp under that tents can’t benefit often. And this video further shows why swags requiring pegs are rubbish. The best I’ve found is actually the wanderer extreme heavy duty swags due to being able to be completely peg free and do well even in hail. Slap a Monsta mat inside and bring a simple usb powered hand vacuum and the take down doesn’t even require any effort when rolling up.

Hi mate, thanks for the feedback. I do actually have a Wanderer swag which wasn’t used for this video as it was similar in size to the Darche Dusk til Dawn swag (bit smaller though). That swag has been my go to for about 5 years and I’ve always found it reliable and comfortable. With that said, pending your style of camping, these days we have a roof top tent and I’m loving the space and practicality for on the move camping. However, you definitely take a hit with regards to mattress comfort and performance in poor weather

you missed a big gap between the biker swag and the following domes - a compact tapered single swag. it was cold down south and less air volume helped in a big way

Great comparison and nice photography. May I suggest investing in a remote mic as it would be so much easier to hear you. Thank-you.

great review lots of useful info there, setup times are abit skewed proably should have had you set all of them up or maybe with all of them try the peg, on the first darche it was abit of a cop out to tie some rocks and call it job done, and i'd say one negative that you wouldnt have to worry about often but could happen, is catching so unexpected rain in the darche 1550 and having to roll around everywhere sealing the ventilation, anyway great review look forward to seeing more of your content

Fair enough. I personally will never go tents just due to the set up time. Swags you can have pillows, doonas and mattresses all folded up inside. Also a lot quicker to set up if your changing camps every night. Each to their own though

hey there. I do use a swag and a darche dusk 2 dawn 900, just got back today after a night out in it. great 4 one nighters or if I know I'll be moving camp every day. but that 1550 i reckon is just to big and 2 much $$. for the extra 15min set up of my airtent its more livable over a few days....I'm glamping heheh. I take both and Im well set, very subjective camping heheh
