Hi. I make moose hide sheaths. (With the hair on). Since you're looking for ideas to get rid of the pvc one, I'd definitely use moose, or deer. Something with short hair. I also incorporate the Dew claws and hoofs for an incredible look.

That self cleaning oven feature is a good way to destroy your digital oven circuit board. At least that's what I was told by the last appliance repair guy. The circuit boards are designed to fail at ultra high temps, according to him. And that's exactly what happened to our last oven. New circuit board was almost as much as a new oven.

I do just the oposite side for the blade in the sheath. Like this, you have always the cutting side facing the side where there is not the rivets. I do this nearly all the time. And if i have not the rivets, i use some fine rope 2 or 3 mm thick, who can do also the buckle.

Enjoyed your video. Its been about 10 years since I've worked with PVC . Some suggestions..... use Chicago screws to hold the project until you're ready for the final project assembly. Where the knife enters the sheath, Make a small roll in the PVC, even if its just fold to help guide the blade in. Not so large as to funnel water or mud in. Rustoleum plastic paint works really well. Just scuff Lightly to give it some tooth for adhesive. Made a water resistant case for a 10-22 many years ago for mounting to bikes (Any type) and the small carts we drive around the back properties. It works great. Ugly, Banged up a bit, and we have to put a water resistant bag to cover the top sometimes to keep the dust and dirt out, but the kids and grandkids strap it on when they head out. Looks like a fat porcupine butt with all the fishing poles and stuff ss the bikes are riding away.

Nice video, thanks for showing. A 'self-cleaning' oven is coated inside with a catalyzer, so all residue desintegrates - hopefully the unhealthy fumes from the heated PVC will be too! I use PVC-piping for my sheaths too, but use a heat-gun - with some leather winter-gloves you can do detailed work (e.g. thumb-rests, indents for tensioning). I live in northern Germany and here different colours are available, e.g. copper and anthracite with golden glitters (my current favorite) for drainpipes. On painted pipes the paint wears down quickly. I like the rectangular shape too, because you can wrap it easily in different types of cordage without having them sliding down a tapered sheath. Your pipe is a sewer pipe, my drainpipes come in 3"/7.5cm Ø too, that would be less excess material. There is no way to stain PVC - get coloured drainpipe. The rivets don't look very pretty - as you made a whole bunch of machetes, I suggest making 'headmakers', simply two pieces of thick steel with spherical indents to form rounded flatheads on both sides (squeeze in a vice with a drop of oil in the indents). As they will rust, I remove the nail-stumps from the rivets before pressing/hammering. Aside from the sheath colour there are two things I don't like with your design, a) no lanyard-hole in the handle (and the tang), b) your belt-loop attachment, being in the way of the (razor-sharp) edge - make the side towards the body a little longer and bend it around the handle, then you can rivet the belt loop to it - reduces the danger of stabbing yourself too. Much success in selling your machetes.

Dyeing PVC, Use Clear PVC cleaner and a "solvent dye" or "fuel dye". An eye dropper of dye concentrate in the four ounce can of clear cleaner. I've enjoyed watching you use things like PVC in unusual ways. Which brings me to a question, have you ever used the concrete test cylinders (4" dia by 8" long ) in landscaping or small project construction?. They are often available from test labs for free.

Also, maybe think about using Cactus juice wood stabilizer in a vacuum pot. Might add 20 bucks to total cost, but you wont have volatile linseed oil and used rags around. Pain in the backside when those rags spontaneously combust.
