This is the video I wish I had as a kid. I've always loved stories, when i discovered persona 3 it seemed so bizarre and interesting but back then I was too poor to afford games. I later played it & loved it as an adult. The child in me really appreciates what you're doing with these videos.

This was excellent. You covered the game, the social links, and The Answer, and you did it all with your trademark sense of humor and style. This is one of your best. Well written script, music choices, and editing. You should really be proud of how good you've gotten over the years. My only regret is that KZread is losing viewers every day, and making your channel grow is quickly becoming an impossibility. This video should have been over 10k views in the first hour, considering Persona 3 just got a rerelease and your recaps are so good. You're doing an awesome job, and KZread isn't doing anything to keep great creators like you around. Creators are leaving the platform, and I hope the same doesn't happen to you. Advertising revenue is down across pretty much every industry, and making a business model based on paying for content with advertiser dollars strangely doesn't work in a recession. The creators that I follow that are sticking around all day this is probably their last year. It's a real shame. I appreciate all you do, and my kids love the recaps you've made of their favorite games (Mostly Castlevania, they're not old enough to appreciate Persona or SMT). I hope you'll keep making these recaps because you like doing it and not just for the pay, but a mage has got to pay the bills somehow. Stay positive, and thanks for this recap and many more.

As a certain Persona User would say, "I've been waiting for this!". Fantastic job Oni with combining not only FES and Portable's stories but also sprinkling in all the Social Links and extra tidbits. It's really cool how you worked in the FeMC, even as a cameo. Personally, I believe that Makoto and Kotone are fraternal twins and the protagonist you pick is the one who survived the accident and got Death sealed in them.

Love the subtle puns. Loved this game. Best overall story in the series imo

i actually really appreciate this as I played p3FES so long ago that i hardly remembered all the main points of the story. especially the answer part. nice job!

Adding the P3P parts in this vid was a very nice touch. Also, I like how you included the female protagonists parents being killed, as well.

While I don't hate Portable light novel approach to the daily life portion, there's something about actual 3d model interactions and cinematic cutscenes that makes the game feel much more alive. Too bad Atlus couldn't find a way to implement full party controls to the old game due to the code (according to most people), that way it be Fes, but plays close to Persona 4 and 5. But hey, Portable provides an optional female protagonist, which everyone apparently wanted right? RIGHT?

Even though I've seen videos on Persona 3 I never knew the full scope of the story, specially with such a masterful weaving of all versions contents, thanks for the amazing recap Oni!

Thank you so much! I never got to play FES or see the Answer, was great to finally see. Persona 3 and Nocturne were my introduction to Megaten and they both gotta a special place in my memories.

I wasn't sure if I should expect you would cover the Social Links, but good God, I am so glad you did! Persona 3 is one of the deepest and most emotionally satisfying games I've ever played. Every character in SEES has a full and satisfying character arc, gaining maxed out Social Links(In a manner of speaking), just as Makoto does, and even the villains feel fully realized. What a wonderful game. Thank you very much for the RECAPitation, and I'll rendezvous with you at the next battlefield.

I played Persona 3 FES along with Portable almost 10 years ago... Now that Persona 3 Reloaded is coming, I watched this video to decided if I want to replay those two games. and you know what thanks for your narration and sprinkle of humor here and there, I will be replaying the game.

Up next is the detective, but sunnier themed and family friendly toned game represented by the color *giallo*, Persona 4. Get it? Because Giallo means Yellow in Italian. You should also recap SMT If and Monark. SMT If is basically the game that inspired the Persona series while Monark is modern day version of SMT If.

The more i look at the ending of persona 3 and the more i look at the spin off, the more i believe reload will alter the ending, dont get me wrong the answer is a great idea on paper, and the message is about accepting mortality, but at the end of the day the series and aegis's message is about bonds, about the friends you made along the way. You can say its cheesy cause it is, but does cheesy have to be bad. I think because i experienced the original game if we ended up saving makoto, I'd call this remake a beautiful ending to the story. It just makes too much sense with persona 4 and 5, the hearts if the public were changed, that means erebus should be gone or at least so small that nyx isnt coming anymore. I think the events of 4 and 5 were set up by Liz, she is "searching for a way to save makoto" in 4 and 4 arena and while not mentioned in 5 we really dont kniw what was going on with the velvet room in p5 why was igor fake? Where was the real igor? I think all of the events were set up for people to come to accept the harsh realities of life and their true selves in order to destroy erebos

Wow. What a story. I have to admit, once I heard so much about Persona as a game, I wanted to play it and experience it as best I could. However, the first time I did it was this version and I got so thrown off by its structure that I was turned off by it. Now that I know how to approach the game, and the persona 4 and Persona 5 stories, I'm really putting in a concerted effort to play this again and then 4 and 5. On a side note, this definitely fits right in with the content, tone, etc of the smt series. Just looking back at the other games I've played, and it's really really compelling and can be very, very dark

I needed this cause I jave not played P3 and am waiting for Reloded so I wanted to compare should any story beats be changed so I will watch this video later

However, Chidori may live Canonically but Shinjiro Aragaki dies Canonically (Except in the reality of P3P in the Female route where you can Save him?

P3P Shinjiro doesn't die from being shot due to receiving a pocket watch from FEMC as a gift. But he's in a coma for the rest of the game and isn't cured of the after effects of the drugs like Chidori was, so he survives but would have died from the drugs not too long after.

shadows are personas didnt made sense when i had to fight three snakes, whose negative thoughts are these snakes?! also how does that make sense, In persona 4, it shown the shadow to be at least looks familiar to the people not some random monsters.

Personally, I didn't really choose her. She is the default in a couple of holiday events according to the game, and when they place the two of them together the most and she literally goes to war for you, it seems the game thinks Yukari is the one for Makoto.

When the time travel bit happened I was so sure they were going to save the main character from his fate. I was annoyed when it didn’t happen. I thought they were going to combine their powers with him to make the seal so that he wouldn’t have given too much and wouldn’t fade away. That would have been the better ending in my opinion.

also, Makoto Yuki doesn't *really* die at the end. if everyone stops wishing for Nyx/Erebus, the seal is no longer necessary and he technically could return back to life. it's mentioned in Persona 4 that Elizabeth is looking for a way to free him.

Until he's resurrected, he's dead. The game directly states he traded his life for the seal and his husk of a body is what lingered on Graduation day.

is it ever explained how aigis did the sealing? she has no such abilities in battle so this plottwist is kind of randome😅

I'm like very confused now. I played PE3 on the psp and sure enough I beat nyx, Makoto dies, end of story....so where does the rest of this stuff come from? Is it from the remake? Did I miss something? There's like 40% of plot missing from what I know! o_o

Persona 3 FES is on PS2 and it has The Answer, which is the epilogue you missed, because it was unfortunately cut from the PSP version (and hasn't been brought back with the remaster? that's stupid atlus, come on)

PSP/P3P is literally a visual novel when not in Tarturus... Which Japan is used to but not the rest of the world. Also no one in Japan especially streamers chooses to play as Kotone.

Only here because I’m borderline about to give up on my P3 reload save file and pick up infinite wealth before rebirth drops. Played the game for 45 hrs and still nothing interesting is happening, the combat can only keep me entertained for so long. Edit: I watched this video up until the save file I have in sept and boyyy did they censor the remake compared to the original lol can’t believe no one’s talking about it at all.

I like P3, but it's a bit to heavy for my taste
