The ULTIMATE Oldschool Freeride Hardtail Mountain Bike - Fiets of Strength Ep. 15
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Today I finish building my dream bike and take it out for a shred session. This is a very weird and very rare slice of the retro freeride hardtail bicycle world from 2003 with some truly unique bike parts on it. Seismic 6" downhill hubs, Twentyfour Cycles Le Toy III aluminum hardtail frame, Arrow racing 24" wheels, and a Marzocchi Bomber Fork. It's wild, REAL wild! Maybe the best urban assault weapon and huck to flat machine ever made.

Get a correct size seatpost. Otherwise it can crack the frame🥲. Love the bomber. My dream fork
I really wanted one of these back in the day. My freeride HT at the time was a Norco Torrent with a Marzocchi Jr T. I had it set up with 26" front and 24" rear wheels, a .243 Racing bar and stem, a sick Titec Beserker saddle, a Blackspire Ring God, and bunch more freeride goodness.
This was definitely a thing I was there, and it was a glorious time in MTB! I still miss my Yellow Banshee Morphin, which was 26/24 mullet running a Monster T. Hucking my meat off, anything I could. Freeride wasn't just a riding style it was a way of life.

The times. Epic
Well I guess it's time to put my 888 bomber on the dirt jump. Cool video
I need to know what that bash ring is!!
Just finished building up an 03 Banshee Morphine with a 888RC fork. It's a blast to take out, turns heads too!
That is a different machine, alright. Don't think I'd want it, but I'm glad you found it for yourself. We all have our favorites.
Sick build dude! I used to have a Le Toy 3 was a real beast haha.. will subscribe to you now 👊🤘
A marzocchi drop-off TI would look so good on that rig. Also you can use zipties on the pivot points of clutchless simano derailleur's to stop chain slap. I have a ghetto setup like that on my Norco
Great build, brings back memories the 24 stuff was always well over built I have the matching 24 dark angel bar a stem love em.
Sick bike. I used to run those arrow rims on my Santa Cruz Bullit during that era.
So rad. Thats one of the gnarliest frames ever
24 bicylces IS life
Your enthusiasm is contagious, want to get building myself now! It was great learning about this rare bike, thanks. I think you're finding your niche on KZread. Continued success!

I love it. I'm in the process of doing the same to a 2010 scott voltage
I have a haro zero werx and done the same , i found a brand new 888 vf , Tho I want to modernize the bike in some ways , An eagle transmission with ns rotary oil slick hubs but damnnn parts are sooo expensive still the bike looks sooo sick and yes turns a lots of heads even if is vintage . This old bikes have an aura and I love them fr :]
That's how it should have been,26 inch wheels with 3 inch tires, and a lot of fun riding! 😆🤣
oh! so cool!
Sick bike currently building up a le toy 3 and would kill for a set of Seismic Epicentres on arrow rims, really nice find

Your channel is gonna explode
hey man, did you buy this bike in Belgium? i've seen a photoshoot happen in Winterberg on the slopestyle track by a belgian dude. he had allmost all the same parts as yours. i still may have some footage but not in a great quality since it was around 2010. crazy bike for sure !!! have fun !!

I bought the bike from a fella in the Midwest, but he had moved there from Belgium where he originally built the bike. It's very likely the same one! How many LeToy frames had seismic hubs back then anyway? Would love to see the footage!
Just a thought. I think it would ride a whole lot beter when you put the lower single crown fork on. Or at least some lower bars. This bike came out in my youth but even then it was a boat anker like no other.

You're not wrong. There's a lot I would do differently that would make this bike ride better, but the way it's built now makes me happy, and that was the goal.
You gotta take it huckin down some stair sets cmon man
Love this era of stuff. Still envious of those hubs. I think that head set is some high-load thrust washer setup meant to take a beating. I'd like to see your thoughts on running before and after swapping those boat anchor tires out for something newer and lighter

Good call on the headset. This one seems to have definitely taken a beating. Those bearings are un-happy. Gonna keep the tires for a while. They carve hard, believe it or not

@@FietsofStrength I think between those washers in the headset MIGHT be a needle thrust bearing. You might be able to replace it and freshen it up. Maybe take it to and old mtb shop and see if the sages there know a thing or two about em.
gotta get a helmet on for riding a beast like this. I love the bike tho I wanna try do something like this with my 05 devinci kicker
I have some surly ods I would maybe trade but your video was alright editing but you legit did something I have wondered about for about twenty years I only wish you would have put on the monster jk a boxer world cup any hoot I am building a DJ and I want no need those cranks man
Where can I see full t-shirt photo? It looks awesome.
Its called 24 BIcycles, not cycles lol And you put the cockring on backwards ;) I used to ride with these guys back in the day, some insane roadtrips and parties. Great times…
This channel is a great change minus the ventriloquism bullsh!t
The is a freaking cool as shit bike!
Shredding Trails with a basecap and toothbrush, buddy serious?🤣 Im riding my yeti ASX rebuild and I love it but with a fkin helmet :)

This bike was owned by a guy who was from Holland and then brought the bike to the US when he came here for college. I bought it from him!
Quanto é esta bike ?
любой переключатель sram будет держать натяжение цепи лучше чем shimano shimano xt с длинной лапой подойдёт разве что для хрупких девочек
Bad*ss

Thank you! I'm flattered you think any of the riding featured in this video warranted a helmet. ;)
