The homeowners moved in, it was only open to the public during parade weekend.

Garage needs to be underground to be subterranean.. The garage here is ground level with the house built up. If you built an underground "aka subterranean" garage here its going to flood..

The lot slopes from street level to 200 feet toward lake so technically the garages are below grade. And no flooding worries here as it’s another 100 feet to the Lake which never overflows thanks to army corps of engineers levies and St. John’s water management drainage

My only issue is why it is so close to the water, especially since FL gets hurricanes. Is the house weather proof?

Central Florida does not experience the same intensity of coastline hurricanes- and this home like other lakefront in orlando is set back at least 50 feet from the lake, which has a 100 year Flood line that no house can be built near. But overall the lakes don't rise and fall that much as they are spring fed and the Army corps of engineers designed levies years ago to regulate water level. The house itself has impact hurricane rated glass and is well sealed up to a commercial standard. nothing to worry about on that front! (and another reason why we get relocations from disaster areas like ft. myers, miami, california wildfires). We are insulated here.

No such thing. I’m a catastrophe adjuster and have seen lakes and ponds inside living rooms after storms. I’ve worked CAT 5s and have been awestruck at the power of nature. Unless it would be your 2nd or 3rd home, I wouldn’t recommend having a primary home on the water. It’s not if but when the CAT will hit.

Yes it was built for a client and is not currently for resale. There are other lots in Bella Collina as well as around the Windermere butler chain of lakes we can help you acquire and build something like this

yes Hampton Bay Homes built it for a customer and it sold for $6M

$6M?? I know Orlando isnt the most expensive area but I'm having a hard time imagining the builder made any money on this one at $6M!

The lot prices are reasonable there. And Keith has lived and built in there since it got started. And remember these final prices may have been negotiated 2-3 years ago

@@rdollie1 No prices are not crashing for quality homes... but yes insurance is expensive both car and home insurance. And taxes creeping up. So if you want to live like the top 5% in Orlando do, expect a decent carrying cost. Still way more affordable than Miami, Sarasota, or pretty much any California city

That lake looks so depressing lol. As for the home, I want to like it but it looks like a municipal building. Bigger is not always better.

Lake Apopka has been through some rough times, but it's starting to regain it's luster. I'll admit it's a little green for my liking as far as a view, but it does provide a nice "no neighbor" lookout. The house itself has an industrial feel until you peel back the layers, then it feels like home. First impression walking up is certainly "wow what is this place"
