All I’m going to say is this guy is truly a life saver and deserves way more recognition for all his help he has done. My dog recently chewed out my frames to my glasses i had since 5th grade( im a junior now). I didn’t really care since it was time for a change anyway so I bought a new pair of polo glasses. Just today my dog once again chewed out my frames. I just started crying at that point because my dog has this ick that anything he sees in my room he bites rather it’s glasses, controllers, hdmi cables etc.I had no hope and I haven’t even had them for a month and I literally sat there and cried until I searched up “how to fix frames that popped out” and when I watched your video and then after fixed my glasses I was so reified. I paid almost 1K for my glasses and only having them for about 3 weeks and getting them broken almost gave me a heart attack. I can’t thank you enough brother god bless your soul🙏🏽🙏🏽. Thank you for all your help you do with these videos. Great job keep it up I hope you make it far 💯

I like this style of video. It gives people a chance to see several frames they may be debating between and may help them make a decision. I think you should do the MJ Aviator collection next!

Solid idea Ryan!! I’ve gotta say Maui has given me more opportunity to play than any vendor I’ve worked with before when it comes to actually letting me get my hands on things without having to buy them. It’s a weird change of pace I like. 😂. Gives the opportunity for stuff like this, and I agree it’s great to cross compare several “similiar” styles! I should’ve thrown the Revo descend on there for giggles (hint the Maui is better and at a lower price, but when I uploaded the image to insta it pulled in the Revo descend from my store to tag 😂 the instant regret on my face of the missed opportunity 🤦‍♂️ 😂)

Yeah I like this 'collection' format, let's see some more. I have the Lighthouse, Hema, Hikina, and Sugar Beach, all fine sunglasses, to which I refer as my Matrix collection lol, because they give off that vibe. Don't worry about the length of the video, as long as it's entertaining and informative it's cool...and your running commentary to yourself is hilarious lol, idk if you do it on purpose or not but it's entertaining. And lastly, to quote Greta as you dissed one of my favorites the Sugar Beach..."How DARE you" 😂

Thanks! Since everyone seems to be loving this format I’ll definitely work on more in the future with some cross compares upscale and (where I can) downscale comparable to consider😎 The commentary to myself is a side effect of putting KZread in the hands of crazy people that love what they do 😂😂🙈 😂😂😂 whoops, I just can’t. 🤐🥶 but they do look cool and I definitely get the matrix vibe from this collection!!

Hey thanks so much for the compilation! Very helpful for someone like me that's interested in the rimless Maui Jims but not sure which to go for. Around 12:50 you mention about the lens material, so are the Brilliant lens significantly better than the Pure in terms of clarity and scratch resistance? Any other differences?

  • @ThatGlassesGuy03

@@WiIza_ primarily scratch resistance and clarity. Weight is relatively close, unfortunately all of the rimless today are Maui pure i believe. Hard to know since they’ve changed up the website. They released a few new rimless since this too monkeying the whole thing up 😂

Hey there Matt, just a quick one here: i finally made up my mind and pulled the trigger on a Maui Jim pair: i was fortunate enough to have found the Whitehaven style at a clearance discount, brand new of course. I dig the style, big bold lenses and, from what i can gather, is a base 8 curve so the sides should be adequately covered! And it has Maui's super-thin glass lenses. I've never owned a pair of Maui Jims before so wish me luck ;-) i'll let you know as soon as i've received them how i feel about them. Cheers!

@@charlesbeall2589 Mine or Matt's? If you're asking for mine, i am afraid i'll have to pass on this: bad experience. The truth of the matter is that i never even got the glasses because they told me there was a mistake and that pair i ordered had already been discontinued, so i had to settle for a refund. Never had a Maui sunglass up to now then. We'll see what the future has in store for me, but i am leaning more towards Serengeti after a good friend of mine, who works as an airline pilot, has recommended the brand to me ;-)

What are your thoughts on those glasses with straight arms? I see a lot of people wear them where I live. There are some really nice looking ones but every time I ask them the brand they don't know. The only ones I can find online are oakley and I am currently test driving a pair. They look kinda bulky but my ears feel RELIEVED. EDIT: Also, are nose bridges supposed to always sit right on the top of the nose? I am black and ive never had glasses that did that. Theres always a very small gap. Idk if its because of the way my face is or what. Ive tried a lot of different bridge widths as well. Whenever I see optometrists they say stuff along the lines of "pick a frame you like". I ask them to for advice and they kinda just reiterate what i said before. That caused me to buy an expensive pair of frames that were super uncomfortable and fell apart after a month. Coulent return or exchange them. Since then ive been using eyebuydirect.

Sorry for the delay getting to you Brian, had a few get buried under notifications. At any rate here we go! The straight fit tend to be longer and likely fit you better specifically. I quite like them when fitted properly, but many go too small with these types and wind up having a frame that just wants to constantly push itself off. As for the bridge, the IDEAL fit, yes. The bridge should sit flush and nicely on your entire bridge, and a few designers actually take this into account with their frames but it is extremely unusual to find. The real key for you is finding a frame that still rests comfortably on the bridge without pinching in one very small area, very common actually. Your natural features just work differently here :) The state of most optical shops today is pretty disappointing. It’s why you’ll never see me hate on the online vendors (I am one as well for that matter). Because in the current environment. Online is just as good or better than the average optical. Damn sad situation IMO.

@@ThatGlassesGuy03 Thanks for getting back to me though. I tried out multiple pairs of oakleys and they just weren't for me. I am rocking titanium frames now and they are amazing so far. Also I agree when you say most optical shops are disappointing. I hadn't got my eyes checked and 7 years and only went because I was begged to because I had an eye dimple. Anyways. I decided to try a shop close by and when signing the forms there were literal ADS for products and procedures/examinations. I bought into one of them and asked about my dimple and they afterwards they were nonchalantly like "oh that's nothing". felt like $100 down the drain but maybe it wasn't. I then got fitted for contacts (I wore some in the past) and they ask what brand? I didn't know any brands so I said just give me the most comfortable ones. I opted to go monthly and test drove two different brands and decided to go back to glasses. The entire time they were acting as if I was lying about my eye hurting and one eye being blurry. They tell me I can't return the glasses so I am like ok. felt a litle weird but ok. I pick some out (they didn't help at all). they ordered them. when it was time to pick them up the screw in one hinge was stripped and wobbly and they were the wrong color. I told them and they order another pair. That pair was bad too but I was kinda done with it all and wore them. I forgot what was wrong with them though. they also hurt after like 4 hours and I found out that they were actually super small for my head. fastforward I find out that the contact brand they gave me was bullshit. according to online reviews and found a website that had every brand. I ordered my prescription in biofinity. They felt great but one eye was still blurry and it never got rid of that feeling of something in my eye. I decided to go to my old optometrist from 7 years back and they said one of my eyes were drying and I needed eye drops. Oh yeah I also had to redo my tests because they didn't want to use the recent ones I got because it would be disrespectful towards them. I was also wearing 2 right eye lenses because for some reason I could see better with them. only a .25 difference. anyways... I end up going along with their stuff and they set me up with more lenses. they felt great but I still had the same problems. Also they changed the prescription in the eye I saw perfect out of and kept the other eye the same (remember when I said I saw perfect out of two right eye lenses?). I was trying really hard not to tell them flat out to change it back and that only my left eye was just wrong(I was kinda there for them to validate my consensus at that point). I ended up doing it. When I told them, it was a different doctor and she had the audacity to say "oh the other doctor probably changed your presciption in that eye because we don't have the trial lenses for that brand and presciption in stock. your other eye is fine though".... said the first part casually like it wasn't an issue. She then switched it back. left eye is fine in glasses but for some reason not in contacts. since then I have been using eyebuydirect just testing frames and sending them back. finally landed on these and I am good. sorry for the essay, grammar, and typos. but yeah shit was crazy.
