Santa Catalina market lies off Palma’s Paseo Maritimo and is easily accessed from many of the hotels in this area. It’s a much smaller market out of the two indoor markets, but still offers a great local experience to see the real Mallorca (Majorca).

Find out why you should experience one or both of what are two of the best indoor markets in Palma and join me for some nice views of Palma city. After my tour of Santa Catalina market, I walk through the city to the Mercat Olivar (or Olivar Market Palma de Mallorca).
Merat Olivar is one of the biggest indoor food markets in Europe and again is the ultimate local experience to be enjoyed by anyone visiting Palma. Split into several sections, you can find the freshest meat, fish, fruit and vegetables and other produce and locally made artisan products.
If you are visiting either of the markets, make sure you stop for breakfast or lunch at one of the many tapas bars and soak up the atmosphere for a truly local experience.

Those markets look amazing Alex. The strawberries looked out of this world. It makes my ham omelette for dinner look very sad lol. Thanks for sharing this with us it was a great mid week surprise coming home to this

I was just glancing at KZread before heading to the shops to get something for dinner and got alerted of this upload. It has inspired me to get lots of healthy fruits and veggies and fish for dinner. Not sure Watirose or Asda will taste quite as delicious as all that fresh produce though! It looks so colourful! I definitely plan to visit these markets when I am over there. Both markets remind me a bit of Borough Market in London where I love visiting and also Cardiff Market, but they look even bigger and better 😊 Thanks for showing us around. The market atmosphere really comes across. I can almost smell all the delicious market aromas 🤗 I look forward to reading the article too.

Just love the Markets. Their fruit and Veg just looks so fresh. Dont these strawberries look yum. Bet they taste great, better than the ones we buy here in our Supermarkets. x

I love visiting local markets. Both indoor markets looks so interesting to visit. I read or watched somewhere that one can buy fresh fish from one of the seafood vendor in the market and ask certain bar to cook it for you? which of the market do that? thanks

That's a really good question. I think they should do because of all the restaurants there, but you know I'll check out next time I'm in town !
