Earlier this summer I tried so hard to get this trick, could never get my body to commit to turning it back in, hit a mental block where I would bail every time, eventually gave up. Tonight i got this trick, did it 5 times! This tip unlocked it for me, I am so appreciative of what you do man, thank you 100%!

I LOVE front side anything. The only way I was able to get FS rock was to have my front foot WAY over the front edge of the board. I physically can no longer skate but thinking about doing FS rocks still makes me smile. Great video Chad .

The most in-depth skate tutorials on KZread. I never used to concentrate on my footing or anything. I used to just wing stuff. Sometimes I would get lucky; but, when I slammed, I slammed hard! What I’ve learned from watching these tutorials is how important your body feet and shoulder positioning is. It makes the session much more enjoyable. 🤙🏻

This is a great tip. I came across this accidently when trying to slide FS rocks and it instantly made coming in easier. Great job as usual.

Chad, thankx for all the videos. Just started skating again after a long time. I was there when El Gato was making up the FS rock at Colton Skate Ranch. In order to take it up to bigger ramps I agree with your first suggestion - it's all in the back foot toe. Check out any picture of a FS on vert and you'll see the toe.

This tip was the key for me too. It’s like tricking your body to pre-twist, and the torque just brings you around. Many thanks Chad

Learnt fs rock n roll just the other day. Front foot tip is spot on, I found the same too, my front foot was moving off the board and that helped me alot. Twisting your shoulders on your way up is key too ready to turn back in. I think what got it for me was doing 100's of front truck bonks on the coping which is very similar to actually doing a fs rock n roll. You just go up and tap your front truck on the coping and turn back in.

Hey Chad, another great video. Yeah, I don't particularly like rock and rolls front or back side, but I'll give that a try. You make the front side look so good. Good tip. I made a list this morning of tricks I want to learn, and after about 13 or so I got a bunch more from watching the 120 trick video you put out a while ago. Thanks chad, looking forward to seeing that video of all 50 tricks before surgery. be good man and keep going. Best, -Dave

Hi Chad, cool video again. A few months ago I had to relearn the FS-Rock again. I had to overcome a mental barrier which was at least as thick as the great wall of china. What helped me a lot was Nosestall FS Revert. This trick has the exact same motion as the FS-Rock. Twisting the upper body is absolut mandatory. With the front foot I totally agree. Mine is also always flat on the board. But my back foot is on the toes. Sometimes near the pocket. This way it is much easier for me to twist the upper body. Keep doing your vids. They are always an inspiration even for old dogs like me.

Thanks for the video! Finally learned these on a smaller ramp. I got one first try, but i ate shit when I tried it a 2nd/3rd time because I leaned too much on my heels going in and got front heelside wheelbite. The heelflip foot position, getting a solid kickturn back in and leaning a little more toeside helped me get these down

My key tip for Front Rocks is to rotate your hips frontside as much as possible. For me. This is the key to getting them around. With any rock trick, I recommend getting low, staying low, then just extend your front leg over the coping, then back towards your chest to clear the coping. Kung fu style!
