Earlier this summer I tried so hard to get this trick, could never get my body to commit to turning it back in, hit a mental block where I would bail every time, eventually gave up. Tonight i got this trick, did it 5 times! This tip unlocked it for me, I am so appreciative of what you do man, thank you 100%!
I LOVE front side anything. The only way I was able to get FS rock was to have my front foot WAY over the front edge of the board. I physically can no longer skate but thinking about doing FS rocks still makes me smile. Great video Chad .

The most in-depth skate tutorials on KZread. I never used to concentrate on my footing or anything. I used to just wing stuff. Sometimes I would get lucky; but, when I slammed, I slammed hard! What I’ve learned from watching these tutorials is how important your body feet and shoulder positioning is. It makes the session much more enjoyable. 🤙🏻
I finally saw another person in the background using this beautiful park!!
That was insane! I like how you put learning new tricks into perspective. But someone will never know the hours and days (and hurt) that gets put into it. You be killing it! Keep up the great content \m/
This is a great tip. I came across this accidently when trying to slide FS rocks and it instantly made coming in easier. Great job as usual.
Yes finally a vid for front rocks!!!
Chad, thankx for all the videos. Just started skating again after a long time. I was there when El Gato was making up the FS rock at Colton Skate Ranch. In order to take it up to bigger ramps I agree with your first suggestion - it's all in the back foot toe. Check out any picture of a FS on vert and you'll see the toe.
I learned frontside rocknroll from a previous video from you. I watched the way yout shoulders moved and it started making sense to me. Thank youu
both tricks were sick man, love your content
Thanks for this. The heel side approach and wind up tip was key for me🤘
I got back rock and rolls and switch back r&r’s but I’ve been struggling with this one on real coping ramps. Thanks for this!
This tip was the key for me too. It’s like tricking your body to pre-twist, and the torque just brings you around. Many thanks Chad
Learnt fs rock n roll just the other day. Front foot tip is spot on, I found the same too, my front foot was moving off the board and that helped me alot. Twisting your shoulders on your way up is key too ready to turn back in. I think what got it for me was doing 100's of front truck bonks on the coping which is very similar to actually doing a fs rock n roll. You just go up and tap your front truck on the coping and turn back in.
Looked sick bruhhh 🤙I like the looks of that mini ramp too
Sick dude.., killin the new tricks. Thx for the tips too!
bro i love your videos , keep on grinding
I lovveeee that last trick you did sooooo classy
Hey Chad, another great video. Yeah, I don't particularly like rock and rolls front or back side, but I'll give that a try. You make the front side look so good. Good tip. I made a list this morning of tricks I want to learn, and after about 13 or so I got a bunch more from watching the 120 trick video you put out a while ago. Thanks chad, looking forward to seeing that video of all 50 tricks before surgery. be good man and keep going. Best, -Dave
That battle for the tailstall bigspin pivot was actually brutal. Looks like some sweltering midday heat... Reminds me of Florida
Great tip and stylish!
Wow once you explained it, it completely makes sense! Once my local park opens back up I'm going to try to learn these and make a video!
Champion geezer. I'm not ready for this yet, but thanks for the tips.
hack of blunt fs out please, you teach really nice Chad
Hi Chad, cool video again. A few months ago I had to relearn the FS-Rock again. I had to overcome a mental barrier which was at least as thick as the great wall of china. What helped me a lot was Nosestall FS Revert. This trick has the exact same motion as the FS-Rock. Twisting the upper body is absolut mandatory. With the front foot I totally agree. Mine is also always flat on the board. But my back foot is on the toes. Sometimes near the pocket. This way it is much easier for me to twist the upper body. Keep doing your vids. They are always an inspiration even for old dogs like me.
Thanks for the video! Finally learned these on a smaller ramp. I got one first try, but i ate shit when I tried it a 2nd/3rd time because I leaned too much on my heels going in and got front heelside wheelbite. The heelflip foot position, getting a solid kickturn back in and leaning a little more toeside helped me get these down
just found this channel bro keep it up!
Thanks for the hack! So much easier
Dream transition trick. I have a complete brain melt when I get over the coping on this trick. Can get front rock laybacks. But never got close to front rock. Will try the hack. Thanks.
Thanks for taking slams to teach us the good stuff Chad
Thanks for the tip on fs rock n rolls! Been trying to perfect this trick so this vid is perfect! Also that trick @ 6:50 was Sooooo pretty🔥
Mini ramp is a great way to keep your athleticism into adulthood. Chads the crusher 💪✅
gnarliest basic trick in my opinion, particularly on larger transition. there's a lot of really scary shit I'd rather try than one of these, but I've been making myself do them anyways and I slam on the regular.
Chad god is here!! 🦈🔱🔥🤙🏽
So sick.
That was insane, I assumed you were gonna go to a FRONT feeble. Not BS. You bounced your truck over a full 180deg and locked in again wtf. 😳 🔥 🔥
Sick!!!
Love your videos dog. You should do a fakie 270 smith, 270 out to fakie
Cool. How about frontside tailslide to blunt fakie transfer on the spine.
Yea chad !!!
I've had sketchy fs rocks for a few years . It's midnight I can't wait to try this tomorrow!

Update. It works awesome. Got like 20 in a row. Thanks chad
us Midwestern guys been at that trick for a whiiile tho :) cheers!
My key tip for Front Rocks is to rotate your hips frontside as much as possible. For me. This is the key to getting them around. With any rock trick, I recommend getting low, staying low, then just extend your front leg over the coping, then back towards your chest to clear the coping. Kung fu style!
BEAST :O
I got front rocks on my 2ft qp but I can’t take it to bigger transition. Imma have to try this trick
Can you do a video of learning how to move your tricks to a bigger ramp?
🔥🔥🔥
#Sick!
Nice! But shouldn’t that first trick to regular count as a new trick too? Unless you’ve done it before 🤘🏽

Can someone explain like im a goofyfooted 5 yo how this is front side when he goes toward his backside?
Nice! You have another job?!
When you said what you were trying to do I couldn’t make sense of it but when you started trying it I felt stupid for not understanding
Why is Judd Apatow teaching us to skate... also did he say he is going to work after this. Wtf guy. 🤙🏼
By doin that it looks way more stezzy
