    Wow! Beautiful job! I had a gift shop up until 7 years ago, but I made diapers wreathes and cakes beside gift baskets. I never used that style bag.. I’ll have to try it! I’m now working out of my home. Thank you for sharing!

    You both are very cute together. I just started my basket business but it's stressing me out to come up with different creative baskets. I think you doing 2 kinds of baskets may make more sense. Independent grocery store sounds like a great thing also.

    Haha thank you. We do need to tailor our baskets to specific needs sometimes but we generally stick to common themes and styles. It's very trendy right now to create charcuterie style baskets.

    I always find it that Christmas is really bad dor us we do HORRIBLE on this day. So i spent $2100 in product and only made $1400 back😢 and fathers day the same. We do our best on Valentine's and mother's day.

    interesting... I haven't heard of this experience yet as usually people really have an amazing December. Perhaps the competition is really fierce in your area where it makes hard to sell baskets at a good rate? Fathers day is definitely not the best month but it should not be a loss. Well you know more about your business than I do, so maybe avoid those holidays. Either way I wish you the best of luck.

    I would make gift baskets for people to give as gifts but I never thought about selling. When you make the baskets do clients tell you what items they want in a basket and you just buy the items? Thank you for sharing!

  • @lifeasiknowit89

    @lifeasiknowit89

    7 ай бұрын

    I recommend selling them since you already know the craft. Clients will give a general idea on what they are looking for and then we will tailor it to that theme. Of course some people are very specific as well and you will have to decide how lenient and open you will be to catering to that. Oftentimes people will just give their price range and we will do the popular charcuterie theme.

    So other than the bow, you don’t add lovely filler and things to make the basket attractive. Would’ve looked so much more festive with beautiful gold or tan beige grass tucked on the sides.

  • @lifeasiknowit89

    @lifeasiknowit89

    9 ай бұрын

    Thanks for watching! We do usually use fillers depending on what season it is. We use the colourful grass for Easter. For Christmas we usually put in small foiled covered chocolates, and even an ornament with the bow to dress it up for Christmas, as well as tinsel. These baskets were used as examples and were not dressed up to the full extent for Christmas as I tried to make them universal since I sell baskets prior to Christmas. We have done very well with our baskets over the years and continue to grow our orders and sales each and every year.

  • @vanessacorreia6904

    Looks very neatly packaged, i am just wondering if the heat of airdryer melts the chocolate items? and heat mixed with plastic releases toxins into food products, is there a different way to get the plastic that neat without blowing heat onto plastic and food?

  • @lifeasiknowit89

    @lifeasiknowit89

    9 ай бұрын

    You bring up a good point. We use a very low heat to shrink the bags. Which barely would reach the prepackaged products. Many products in our baskets are jarred or in cardboard. I also believe they are food safe and FDA approved. I see where you are coming from and there may be other ways to obtain this look without heat but I have yet to research that.

    I have a grocery store too and am looking to start making baskets. What wholesale company do you recommend?

  • @lifeasiknowit89

    @lifeasiknowit89

    10 ай бұрын

    Yes baskets are the perfect addition to your store! Well wholesale companies will vary from country to country and state to state and i'm not sure if you are just looking for the basket bottoms or the products to put in the basket. If it is just the basket material(bows, bottoms, cellophane) and you are just starting I would suggest just buying a few from your local dollar stores and seeing if there is a market for baskets at your store. After that look into wholesalers and maybe you can get some volume discounts!

    Felicia does one need a special license to resell the items we put in our baskets legally? I dont want to upset the actual companies that create the items. How do we get around this?

  • @lifeasiknowit89

    @lifeasiknowit89

    No special license required. In my province as long as you have a business license and proper food handling license you do not require any special license. The companies i'm sure are more than happy to be selling their products in your baskets.
