I’m a filipino who opens coconuts a lot and your coconut opening skills are not bad. Honestly, I do almost the same technique, shaving off most of the husk off the top til I get to the shell then I just use a sharp bolo (philippine machete) to chop off the top enough to expose some meat to be poked thru by a straw

Well I must definitely say a big thank you lads as I have gone to get this knife countless times but just never pulled the trigger on it. Always going for something a bit more modern in style. But after watching you two having your fun with it I can definitely say it’s going too finally makes it’s way into my collection ( god love the poor little tinker)😂 as for me I need some food after seeing you pair eating them burgers my guts is bubbling like a drunken baby elephant after hitting the fermented fruit in a forest! You two have a beautiful weekend and most importantly of all stay safe and healthy lads. Right I need food😝

Thing is victorinox knives do blunt fairly quickly but at the same time I find them quick and easy to sharpen. So for a edc as long as you give the victorinox a little sharpen on a wet stone every now and again they’re fine. And if you ever loose it it’s no big deal coz they aren’t dead expensive.

yup, every minute of extra edge retention translates into another 10 minutes of sharpening. expensive knives are only really attractive if you are actually good at sharpening, or have some system that works well for you. i myself struggle with this, regardless of system, and as a result i find myself going oldschool and really loving carbon steel. you gotta take care of it, but at least i know even i will be able to get a decent edge on it.

I'm quite practical. I live in Alaska, and spend most of my time living in the woods. If I can't carry it, I probably don't own it. I love learning about different knives, but don't really "collect" many. But, this is a cool F-ing knife. It's got panache. THIS ONE, I'm buying, just because it's a cool, nice knife to pull out in public, and it won't scare anyone, lol.

My EDC knife is a US ARMY issued pocket knife. It's all stainless, has a 3" blade, an awl, a can opener, a bottle opener with a flat blade screw driver and a lanyard loop. It's marked "U.S." on the left scale and it's made by Camillus. It is a folder without a lock verry similar to the Victorinox. I had two of them but the TSA took one away when I forgot it in my pocket at the Nashville airport, JERKS. Do a review of that knife guys!

I think they use a belt grinder. I also have this knife and reshaped, sharpened the edge with fine sandpaper. First 320 grit then 600 grit and then 800 grit and to finish it of strop it on leather with a compound. Ot is super sharp and much beter at cuting now.

The coconut comparison is fair, BUT the point of the victorinox is that you have other tools too, and in the classic alox pioneer you have the punch/reamer that would have been the better tool for that hole carving.

The true test for such folders is the shield on the handle, if it is just inlaid it always fails, best built folders have the shield as part of the internals of the knife though this takes far more workmanship.

I owned a Fallkniven PF w/ ironwood handles. Too bulky for a single blade, and I sold it on eBay. No regrets. I keep my Case Tribal, Benchmade Bugout, and SAK.

I really like your videos, and I like your style and sense of humor! If you guys ever make it to the United States, come to my house in Idaho. I want to drink a couple of beers with you guys (if you don't mind drinking with crazy old farts like me...I'm pretty sure I'm twice as old as either of you).

I have GP, but it feels a bit bulky to carry it in the jeans pocket, and it is heavy for a folder.
