There are also amazing opportunities to learn about the history of the many fascinating nations and their cultures.
Of course, you'll never be able to see everything, especially not in one short trip, but if you're well prepared, you can at least have the chance of having an adventurous and awesome time there.
No matter if you are a student backpacking across Europe for the first time or a seasoned world traveler hitting your 20th country, there are some items you need to be prepared with.

That European Visa Waiver requirement has been pushed back to 2024 - not needed for this year (2023)
I've done 5 years in Europe and am now in the far East for 2 years ,all your advice is perfect, thanks 👍

Phones: I just called T-Mobile about Europe. What they told me was that you didn't need to change anything to use your phone in Europe. Data was no charge, texting no charge. If you wanted higher speed data, you could buy plans but it was not necessary. Phone calls at 25 cents a minute. They just suggested to use something like WhatsApp, FB Messenger, or Viber when on Wifi. Just thought I'd share. Great tip on the passports/ID's.

Thanks sharing. Yep that’s correct. I’ve never bought there high speed data. But in general there speeds in Europe are …okay. Way better then they were a few years ago.

I'm planning my first solo trip to Europe this year. I've watched several of your vids and they are fantastic. But one thing I haven't seen yet is what you do with either your luggage or backpack on a daily basis when staying at hostels.

Most hostels have lockers. You just lock up your luggage.
What do you think about one of those electronic language translators? I can get by (get a room or a meal) in German or French, but am going to Greece and Turkey where I have no idea of the language.
For emergency and day to day cash do you recommend euros or US$?

Where is this country you call Eurooe? Will your cards be useful in Trakia or Kossova or Kazakhstan, or countries that do not offer ATMs?
I am an older traveler. Is a hostel my only option when traveling carefree?

No. Really any accommodation is an option. But with a few things to keep in mind. First is when you are traveling. If you are traveling at peak season in Europe. (May - August) It’s more risk that every place will be booked. Especially in the popular cities like Paris, Florence, Barcelona. Etc. Budget is another thing to keep in mind. If you are booking last minute. There is a chance you could score a deal. But most likely it will be more expensive. As places fill up, prices rise. I love carefree traveling. And the majority of time it works out. But sometimes it has lead to some pretty rough nights without anywhere to sleep.

To me it was a nightmare. I ended up on a floor and tried to go to the bathroom where I was yelled at in Austrian and all I could make out was something about him calling the police. :D I am 74 would never stay at one (again) and yeah there are other options--you can book early but there are smaller pensions and that sort of thing. He's a young guy and can probably handle sleeping on the floor. He has other excellent advise though. I wouldn't say it is "carefree", the cares are different. :D

Bruh.....a hostel blasting the AC in europe? What hostels are these? They usually just let ppl melt in the summer.
ETIAS goes live in Jan 2023, why are you saying 2022?

Because it was pushed back. Originally it was 2022. Then end of 2022. Now 2023.
