2 channel with phase inversion is just an amazing feature. Very well done.
That’s a pretty damn cool pedal. I have an MXR 10 band that I really love, but that would be really cool to be able to control how wide the bands are like in a DAW.
I have had this pedal since it came out. This eq pedal is loaded with features. Amazing pedal.
Thanks!! Nice Overview. Love that Phase Reverse Tonality Variation.
Pretty cool sounding pedal! 🙌
This thing is so cool. Really, eq is everything.
Great video! I had been seriously considering this one, but now I’ve got a Source Audio Hyperwave, which (as you know) incorporates EQ and a BUNCH more.
EQ pedals are so underrated. Wish I’d discovered them sooner! Cheers mate, D

You are so right. I played for years without an eq and as soon as I added it to my setup….holy shit! Game changer!
Just needing one of these
Amazing pedal, I'm just barely scratching the surface with mine. So far I've been using it as a boost on R2 of a Mark IV, and also as a volume pedal along with the wah. Plus it's got a tuner built into it, so basically it could replace a half dozen things on your board.
It's a great pedal, I am loving mind. Even working on tweaking out a Fortin Grind type of preset.
Oh this is sweet! You could totally get that Furman PQ3 boost in the front of the amp for that parked wah Stryper tone…which I absolutely love!! This does so much more though! I like it!

Yessss!
Hey, man. Relatively new subscriber here. I'm recently getting back into guitar after about a two year hiatus. Naturally, I'm getting back into gear, etc. Love the channel! Great player, cool toys on display, always very informative. In fact, you sold me on the spark 40. I've been playing for 30 years and i do have big, loud amps, but i can't get to or use them as much as I'd like, so i needed something small that didn't sound like arse. Very happy with it for what it is. Anyway, great content!

@1970borntorun i was happy with that rig back in high-school. Then i got into tube amps and the tone chase began
THANKS FOR THIS LEON TODD! I HAVE THIS AMAZING PEDAL AND LOVE IT ,I MOSTLY USE IT IN MY EFFECT LOOP TO CUT THE MID FREQ LIKE THE DIEZEL HERBERT IN +-430HZ AND USE THE expression PEDAL FOR MORE OR LESS CUT\VOLUME I THINK YOU SHOLD TRY IT IF YOU CAN(I USE IT WITH ENGL,MESA,BOGNER,ORANGE)
You made my head 🤯 lol. Good stuff though! I want one!!
Wow. I just stumbled over this pedal while searching for a MIDI controlable device for adjusting rhythm and lead volume by an expression pedal. So I´ve seen already some presentations but yours answered a few question and caused some more ideas.

My pleasure!
pre-EQ is so great, especially with a fully controlable parametric EQ. Even when I'm using a tube amp I will use my axe FX 4cm so I can really sculpt the tone how I want. Perfect for really dialing in the perfect amount of attack, tightness, etc. Though there is a big learning curve, figuring out what frequencies do what, etc. A lot easier with a tubescreamer that has three knobs but way less flexible. The rewards are great for figuring out how to properly implement pre-eq.

Basically let's you do custom, reversable mods to any amp!
I got one to use in both my loop and in front of amp simultaneously and it worked great, the only problem? I realized I only needed an EQ in my loop in the end so I returned it, but it is an incredible EQ! Recommend it
Love mine. So much functionality in a small box.

IF they added the ability to use a semi standardized mic ( proper or sm57???) - they could even add space profiling and / or even a cab / room sim. It already has 99% of the bits! As always- thank you for the positive and informative videos in these challenging times
Great job Leon - I would assume this is only good for live stuff - for instance if I changed eq on the fly digitally it wont change in my daw recording when changing it ?
I recently started looking at the EQ2 to use in the same way you demonstrated with it having one channel in front and another in the loop ala MK series amps. I just have this feeling doing so is going to take me down a whole midi switcher path simultaneously…
This is exactly the video I needed to see!!! A while back I also watched that Plague Scythe video that you mentioned and your video has made me realise that I can simulate those eq curves with this pedal!!! Are the curves that you made by any chance shared on the Neuro app? I'm receiving mine tomorrow and can't wait

2 channel eq yep nice! One side in front of the amp and the other in the effects loop... there you go unlimited tones from almost anything.
very powerful tool this pedal. i've always thought a pedal form of fab filter would be extremely powerful as well

@@LeonTodd all that series of plugins are awesome and very easy to use at the same time. Their multiband compressor could make a great device as well
It’d be cool if you tried it as a cab sim after a distortion pedal used as a Preamp, Leon.
Great video, very inspiring! One question. Does it make sense to use one of these in a Poly Beebo rig? I mean you can easily outperform the EQ2 with the Beebo, am I right?
@LeonTodd
2 жыл бұрын
I think the PEQ in the beebo is limited to 5 bands, so this will give you a little. ore control there. Vastly different beasts though.
Is it going to work with line levels signals? I’d like to use them from a DJ prospective to tune the speakers, and I’d prefer these over the regular rack mounted equalizers. Would it be possible?
The first example were you running before or after Distortion? Thanks
I'm looking at getting one of these. I was really hoping you would look into the gate section, with one channel as the sense input before the amp, and the second channel as the gate itself in the fx loop. That would be my main use for it.

Hey Hairy-Dude. I have this pedal, and I thought I would be using the noise gate. I don’t like the gate at all and instead use a Fortin Zuul, which is perfect.
@TheHairyDude
2 жыл бұрын
@@andrewjparris What don't you like about the gate on the EQ2? I'm looking for a gate that I can have different settings per patch, and a dedicated gate pedal like the Zuul won't do that for me.
@andrewjparris
2 жыл бұрын
@@TheHairyDude I started righting a reply, and then realized it had been a while since I tried it. Was gonna tell you that I can hear it engage and the Fortin is better, blah blah blah. Then I just fired it up with my new rig setup, and it is totally fine and I am not even using the way you should (putting a clean signal in Channel 1 as the Source and then running the gate on Channel 2). Its actually pretty nice. You can have the Source be either channel and then apply the Gate on either or both of them. The only control is the Threshold, so no attack or release. But its fine. If you don't mind lots of menus or editing it on a computer, it might be perfect for you.
@TheHairyDude
2 жыл бұрын
@@andrewjparris Thanks for that, much appreciated. Menus and the like don't bother me. It will be used with a Boss ES-5, so plenty of menus and computer editing to be done! Sounds like the EQ2 is the one for me. Cheers!
As an unrepentant KX fanboy, my first question about any new piece of gear is, "will it Tabor? 🤔" In this case, that expression pedal option suggests using it to fade between mid-boosted dirty tone and gain-lowered, bass- and mids cut 'clean' tone, like the HBE Detox or Mad Prof. Underdrive pedals, but seemlessly variable.
Does the tone knob on the amp not work out something 😛
How many bands on the parametric EQ? Cannot the Q be dialed in?
Can you share the EQ2 presets you set up for this video? I have one, but don't use it much since I have the BOSS EQ-200 in my chain currently.

Does this pedal add a bright or treble edge to your sound no matter what? The original EQ did.

I'm a Source Audio fan, and being a Chapman Stick player, I'm always on the lookout for pedals with dual mono functionality. My biggest concern with this pedal is being able to tweak settings "on the spot" in a live setting. I use my current (very simple) EQ pedal to make small adjustments virtually every time I gig. Any further thoughts on the lack of physical sliders?
@LeonTodd

It's definitely not as immediate or tactile as a dedicated set of sliders but once you learn how to adjust the sliders manually the flexibility is well worth it IMO

Is the learning curve a lot harder to Learn than the g7 boss?
How are you running the Delay in parallel to the EQ?….I would love to be able to phase reverse one side of my DIG,on ADM mode…ADM 1 bit delay with phase reversed right channel,instant 2290….

It's pretty quiet. It also has a noisegate.
Is it the ultimate EQ? It's a good pedal but no, it's digital. DIGITAL DOES NOT HAVE WORSE SOUND QUALITY THAN ANALOG. Digital here is bad for a different reason. I love some digital effects but when effects are digital, your signal gets AD/DA converted, which means it's got a slight time delay in it no matter what. If you put that in the amp's effects loop and there's any bleed-through where the dry signal mixes in just a little bit no matter what (many amps have this fault, unfortunately), then you'll get weird phasing artifacts and it will kill your tone. BUT, if you only use the pedal going into the amp, or completely after it in the chain, like after a mic or load box or in the DAW, then yeah it's probably the most flexible EQ pedal you can get.
