THE ULTIMATE ENTRY LEVEL MIC - Rode NT1 5th Gen.

Музыка

The Rode NT1 has been the number one mic for budget minded musicians and beginners alike for many years and I NEVER had one or checked it out, but always thought it can't be good. So dumb!

Bought my 1st gen Rode NT1 back in the late '90s. Still using it 25 years later. It's a great mic.

One of the best, and most entertaining, looks at this mic. 🎙Thanks, so much. Happy New Year.

Fantastic little overview review. I had no idea it came with an xlr cable in the package. Glad KZread recommended this to me!

a perfect showcase of my favorite microphone. now with usb c its just the ultimate allrounder on the market. perfect neutral frequency response but also a warm, rich and detailed sound if used at close distance, zero self noise, optimal form factor, great price and looks super sexy in the case of the 5th generation. everyone in the industry with more expensive mics could "downgrade" to this and no one listening would ever notice a difference, or it would even be an upgrade. watch direct comparisons with something like a neumann tlm103 or 87ai and you probably wont be able to hear a difference. the shure sm7b sounds different but in my opinion worse.

Great sounding vocals and songs, it was an amazing decision to add the singers name as a foot note under vocals, its the first time I see that. Well done. Rafael has such beautiful emotions in his singing and facial expressions when he performs :) Good mic review too.

I remember the first gen. They were a little harsh but not terrible. I own a pair of 2nd or 3rd gen myself but they were heavily modded by Michael Joly so off course I've only good things to say about them. Other than that I also have a pair of NT3 and a pair of NT5 (with custom Okavamod capsules but I still have the originals too). The build quality in general is very good.

Sounds like it would be perfect for vocalist that have an issue with too much high end in their pitch.

i love the sound of this mic, but i would be using this microphone in a untreated room(bedroom)- just for personal use. I don't mind it picking up an occasional motorcycle speeding by I just dont want it sounding like im in a box or have an echo. Other mics I was considering was the podmic usb or the RØDE NT-USB+ but by first choice would be nt1 5th gen. Your thoughts if the nt1 in a untreated room? And if you don't suggest it in that environment, what are your thoughts on the podmic usb vs nt-usb+ lol If you dont care for either I'd love a suggestion. Usb mic is a must though. Thanks!

Sorry, I'm a little new to the subject, I just bought this microphone mainly because it is the quietest in the category, I wanted to understand if in these recordings you made, there is any type of post processing to remove background noise. Well, it's showing up on mine. thanks!

You have to adjust the noise gate settings in Rodecaster pro or duo or the software that it comes with. And you will wont hear anything, the only thing you will hear is your voice when speaking / sing into the mic.

You should compare it to a 1st gen NT1. There was a big drop-off with the 2nd gen and that has never changed. The originals are completely different.

if USB recording isn't important to you, then I would go for the OC16... more expensive, but it has less of its own sound that it imposes on the signal.
