There's a small icon at the bottom of the item card that tells you if you need items of that type in town, or if you need that specific item for research

You can also right-click any item and if it says "view research" then it's involved in a research in town. I can never pick out the icon on the cards. It's always way too tiny

You can Scratch as Purse, if you have any spare energy It’s hidden in the corner, but does a tiny bit of extra damage

The great thing about ninja stars is that if you have enough of them they become more likely to appear

17:05 you can always check if the town currently needs stuff by rightclicking and then checking the research. Very helpful to figure out if you want to keep suff. Also the symbols in the lower left of the card are indicators for research, just they only go away if you fully do the research. So a lot of the time you might have them show up, when you already filled the slots, just didn't complete it.

The magnifying glass in the bottom left corner of each card tells you if that category is needed for research, and if it has a star then it's that specific item

Love this game, I can't wait to buy it to play myself!! Often I don't want to watch thru someone's playthrough if I'm gonna play it myself, but this game is so versatile and open ended that it should feel brand new for me when I get into it too, looking forward to the next episode 😁

There's plenty of content he hasn't shown yet, don't worry. You can look forward to the robot character, that makes a charge depending on your energy. That charge then uses the items it passes through. You can reroute the charge and make loops for insane dmg. It takes a lot of thinking to get a good build going and optimisation of the route of the charge is the core element.

20:35 you unlock follow up research tho, so often you need to unlock the bad items to get to the better ones.

Since you're getting into consumables now, I'm going to recommend this: the Cleansing Flame destroys whatever item it's played on. Including, and cleansing, curses! So if you take a (small) cursed item, and take the flame, as soon as you enter combat, you can play it and bam, self-cleansed curse for free!

Tyler's Customer Service is amazing. He is freely giving drinks to the inhabitants of the dungeon.

That mission was actually pretty fun. I finally have everyone unlocked and have been stagnating on runs because they're getting harder/more annoying.

I love this series

I'm really looking forward to the robot character runs. At first I was overwhelmed by the mechanics, but now I somewhat get it and the builds are absolutely bonkers. The first two or three fights each run are rough (especially on higher levels of the hard mode), but then the train starts rolling. My most consistent runs are when you make a loop with one overheating element that then feeds into a weapon and shield (that creates block depending on distance traveled). Take a piece of clothing in the run and add additional energy to it for maximum weapon uses and put rage on the weapon. Then pick up the element, that does AoE dmg when overheated and tadaa, huge AoE dmg. Alternatively two boosters will enable you to put one enraged weapon into the loop for even more fun. A word of caution from my side is that you kill the smoke enemy as quickly as possible, he can really screw up your power lines. I usually manage to kill the king in 2-3 turns as a point of reference.

About the whole Shuriken thing, i recently did a Shuriken hard run, and MY GOD, that shit was op as fuck. I one turned the final boss of the game with it, mana, consumables and Shurikens left to spare. And I haven't even unlocked the final shuriken pouch! You need to do a shuriken run at one point, it's just, so broken (what were they thinking when they added the alpha star, my god)

Can you believe the alpha star used to be able to spawn other alpha stars? Now all shurikens above common can only spawn shurikens one tier lower :(

12:15 Seems like the logic is: Moth bomb gets used by Bombstone. Moth Bomb kills and replaces itself. Bombstone destroys the new Moth Bomb. It's still a decent combo, but just as a one shot kill, not a repeatable.

18:15 items always try to fill out two slots. Never more, no matter the rarity or where you put them. I still think this is a bug, given how random it often feels.

Yep, the shoe hat is an excellent shoe and a pretty bad hat. He may need to start going tall in order to utilise the double drop chance of shoes and hats, that both scale with height.

As an engineer i approve of using large amounts of beverages to solve problems.

I just got an add for Hiker, a mobile game which seems to be takingna couple assets from this one, but I dont play so Im not sure.

this one is fun i wish it explained how the bomb worked better took me forever to figure out i had to move the bomb not place the cup by the relic

Driving prequel:

I did this run not too long ago. I was very disappointed because there is an Orange Bomb relic that gives a similar damage boost, but it doesnt stack with the Black Bomb.

I got a brutal bombstone in this run (weapons get +500% damage but are destroyed on use), tragically does not stack with normal bombstone :(

One of the things that bothers me about the quests is that you find such cool stuff (ie. Black mana stone) but you aren’t able to use it because the runs have a fixed build idea. I feel like it kinda takes out of the whole rouge-like thing.

It's story mode. You can play the non-story mode to play the actual roguelike.
