One of the things you neglected to mention, and probably the most important feature, is that it’s an RF laser and NOT a CO2 laser. You never have to worry about breaking your glass laser tube or replacing the glass tube. It also runs cooler, much faster speed and provides greater detail!

Hi Stephane! I did actually, I decided on the Bolt and couldn't be happier with it. It's an amazing machine that I feel like doesn't compare to others. The build quality is incredible! I highly recommend Thunder Laser!

Great video explaining the Lazer machine. But very pricey.

I'm wanting to start a small laser engraving business and I'm completely torn between the Thunder Laser Bolt and the Xtool p2. I'm coming from using a Glowforge Pro and I'm a bit nervous about the learning curve. Would you recommend a Thunder Bolt?

I don't have any of those machines, but look at @RichardBoisclair-hw6nb's comment above. RF lasers have multiple advantages over gas tubes, including the ability to both cut materials using less power, as well as engrave faster due to less mass and faster acceleration on the gantry. Unless I end up needing a much larger bed, this is the one I hope to be getting.

I started with a Glowforge Pro. I upgraded to a Thunder 63 and shortly after my GF died. Rather than pay for a refurbished I decided to buy the Bolt - not sorry. Thunder Lasers are amazing!

Do you have to have it by a window to vent out? What if we were wanting to put it where there isn't a window, does it have a fan to suck it in? I will go check it out. I have been wanting to buy one for a very long time and just haven't taken the plunge.

It has a fan that will push out through the hose and you can put that hose anywhere. We have ours in a garage and we have a door that we send the hose out through. You'll just want to have a space to vent the hose out of.

There are a number of enclosed air purifiers that are designed to contain the particulates and smoke, negating the need to vent out of a window or door. She mentions using this at a craft fair, but think about it. In addition to lugging 150 pounds of laser machine and accessories, where would you vent this in most show facilities! Then again, the air filter units could add another 40-50 pounds of weight. Better, cheaper and lighter machines out there.

I would assume so, but I have not tried that specific material. As long as the thickness is less than 1/4 inch, I don't think you'll have a problem cutting through it. Engraving shouldn't be an issue.

Is this only for windows? Where can you order the materials?

We currently have it out our garage door. So it's up to you on where you want to vent it out. I buy my materials locally.

There is always going to be a smell, but as long as your venting it out a window the smell shouldn't be very overpowering.

I'm still playing around with getting the right settings, but with the right material and settings it should. MDF would probably cut easier than a plywood. You may have to do a couple passes on the plywood is my guess.

@@LizabethMoore Thanks! Mine is coming in a weeks time and I cannot wait. I watched another video where he cut 1/4, and said it would do 1/2 and 3/4 but the time and energy for 3/4 may not be profitable. I am just happy with the 1/4'' cut!

At over $6,000 U.S. total cost, with tax and rotary unit, I’m not very tempted at all.

I think it's disappointing when video producers don't respond to questions. Imagine if you started losing subscribers....hmmm.

Not super concerned about losing subscribers based off responding to comments. Those who follow me and know me and my current situation will understand :)

It’s a great machine but let’s be clear, they gave you a free machine in order to get a review, which is always the fastest way to establish bias in a review. Had you paid for the machine with your own money this wouldn’t be such a clickbait glowing review. This isn’t to say the machine is not amazing, just that you need to be more honest in your paid review.

I agree 100%, these types of reviews are questionable. I watch these videos to see what the laser can do, not for the reviewers opinions.

Yes, they sent me this for a review. My opinion is 100% honest. I always give my honest opinion no matter if the item was sent for free or if I paid for it. I've been working with laser machines since 2020. I understand quality, what's good and what's not good. I am offered laser machines almost on a daily basis. I don't take just any machine and throw up a review. In my opinion, I loved the machine. I loved the quality and I think it's a perfect beginner/hobby machine. Let's not try to assume my thoughts and opinions :)
