Last year I went to a summer camp for a week and I fell in love and this year I am going for two. For the water thing they had us carry a water bottle 24/7 and constantly had us drink and refill them. We had hot chocolate every morning, but they would let us drink it until we had a cup of water. For the snacks thing I am allergic to peanuts and they didn’t recommend snacks anyways, if you did bring them they would go in the bear box so bears couldn’t get them. I just found your channel and even though it’s January I am so excited for Camp and I am going to stay up all night binging your videos. I am going to make my packing list tomorrow lol, you look like you love camp like me and I can’t wait for summer!!!

For anyone who is going to be a counselor. This is a message from a used to be little at a camp. Kids (at least every cabin I was in) LOVED their counseler so much. We would always fight to sit next to her, hold her hand, and stuff like that. So don’t be shy about hanging out with your campers. I’m telling you the better relationship you have with them the more fun it will be for everybody

my first (and a half) year on staff, i find a lot of camp shirts and hoodies are often the best to bring- they're already camp certified and usually super cute and comfortable!! and one thing i LOVE is i crochet so i can make garland and fun things for the kids!!

This came just in time! I’m so excited to be an assistant camp counselor at my Bible camp.

I just got my first pair of chacos in perfect condition from plato’s closet and I love them, although they are a bit hard (but maybe they just need to be worn in more). But I have to say that I definitely recommend the sketchers water sandals! They are extremely comfortable and a great price. So if anyone is looking for a little more affordable option, look for sketchers ones!

This summer I'm being a camp counselor for a Christian camp, and I have been to a bunch of different camps throughout my life, but have never been a counselor. I am REALLY not sure how this is going to go, but I think as long as I remember what I'm doing and I'm cautious about my actions, and I try to be fun then it'll all work out. This video helped, and I would've never thought to being decorations, but I have purple fairy lights in the supports of my bunk bed at my house and think it would be really fun to bring those and use them in my cabin. This year I was camp counselor on my community church camp - 8 days on family stay and then I stayed on campus for our youth camp to be participant for 8 more days. It is funny because 1st week my leaders were participants and I was staff for their children and next week they were my counselors 😂 Me and my boyfriend had own small group of 10 the oldest children 11-12 years old- almost youth and because it was camp for families we had children “only” for 7 hours a day (8 hours with worship for all children). Anyway it was fun and I am sure that I will work on camp next year again

Last summer I worked as a counselor at my favorite place in the world for the first time, Camp Wonderland in Mass. When I received my email saying I had been hired last year I stayed up all night watching videos about other people’s camp experiences because I was so excited, your videos have been really helpful and entertaining and I’m extremely excited for another exhausting but amazing summer as a camp counselor:)

I’m gonna be a camp counselor for the first time this summer! I’ll specifically be working as the assistant barn manager so most of my day will be teaching kids to ride! My camp is very primitive and where me and the barn manager will be staying is the only bunk on site that has electricity (meaning a ceiling light and some outlets to charge our phones). I’m super excited though and I move in for training in two weeks!

Do you have any decoration tips/recommendations for perma-tents?

I've been a camp counselor at an angel tree camp for 3 years now, and this year I will be moving to a leadership position called counselor coach. So basically I will just be in charge of all the counselors, making sure they have everything they need, give them advice and encouragement, and then also help solve any camper conflicts they are having trouble solving on their own. Unfortunately we can't bring in alot of our own extra things. We can't do fairy lights, our own board games, ukuleles, ect. If really just a safety thing because alot our campers do have trauma, so we try to limit things that could potentially be triggers. We actually can't have our phones on us either. I don't know if that's just with my camp specifically, but we have to turn our phones into the "phone vacation box" at the beginning of every week before campers come. Again, its a safety thing. Most of us counselors don't mind because we understand why we do it.

I love this! I am totally a camp counselor personality and have gone in some way since I was 12! I am now going to be twenty on the 19th and won’t stop. My mom asks me if I ever will stop and the answer is no. I will be a grown woman with kids and still going. Lol. 😂😂😂 My kids will too and if I can convince my future husband to help, he will be. I joke that we will be that church family and it would be a dealbreaker. I am mostly kidding, haha. I went four years as a camper and then four years as a counselor.

It's always scary the first time, but once you get into a routine (which is pretty quick), you won't want to leave!

Cotton On has some good ones, but also some of my best denim shorts are from Goodwill!

We had like barley any free time we get up and go to breakfast then we go to like i’m pretty sure we went to like service then we like went to the food stand thingy i’m pretty sure and we probably do something else but i forgot because i haven’t been there in a year but then we do probably lunch maybe then girls vs boys bible stuff maybe then like pool time then the boys and the girls switch and we do the games and stuff then we eat supper then we probably can buy stuff and we get the letters and then we do the who won the spirit stick and stuff like that then we go to sleep

A year ago at church camp I made the big mistake of forgetting sunscreen. I got 2nd degree burns and blisters on both my shoulders and could barely move my arms for another week and a half, please please PLEASE don’t make my mistake, use sunscreen.

Do you have any wisdom for a camp specialist teaching a particular skill? It is my first time working at camp, and I'll be teaching blacksmithing. Any wisdom for my job would be helpful.
