That grey line is the "note velocity". Every single note is marked with its velocity (volume in simpler terms) in the piano roll of FL Studio!

The 808 will carry on playing for the full note even if you lay another note down next to it, which means both notes will overlap. Cut itself basically means when the next note is played the previous one will stop

@@JSewellBeats I know that bro haha But I was wondering why you use the envelope + the cut itself function? The Envelope alone with these settings plays it for the length of the drawn note, so I was wondering if cut itself makes the slide up/down cleaner or so? Hope you get what I mean

Does what kind of computer you're using matter when it comes to making the slides - mine's 13 yrs old and the slides still sound garbage even after watching the guide

Have you opened the 808, clicked on the wrench then turned on 'Cut itself' under the 'Group' menu?
