The Ullswater Way - Spring 2023: Day 1 (Including the Eamont Way)

Day 1 on my multi-day solo hiking & camping journey on the Ullswater Way!
On day 1 you'll see me hiking from Penrith station to Pooley Bridge as I trek 5-or-so miles to reach the start of the Ullswater Way, which starts at Pooley Bridge. Little did I know that at the time, I'd be among the first people to hike the Eamont Way, a brand new trail that connects Penrith to Pooley Bridge!
It's apparent that something makes me a bit loopy in this video; whether that's the fickle weather changing from rain to blinding sun, all the while battling the wind (which I apologise for in advance - it's a fairly windy video) or just my mood.
It was quite a funny day to be honest, while, even though I was hiking it alone, I found myself laughing more often than not. Again, I think there was something in the air, or maybe it's just me.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video! Day 2 will be up next week! :)

Also, my brother and I hiked Hadrian’s Wall to raise money for Mind, we got 55 miles in before we were forced to cut it short due to food poisoning from an Inn we stayed in! We're better now, and will continue the walk soon, so if you’d like to donate and support us I’ll add the link below! It’d mean so much, and for a good cause!

Spring is the best, right before the leaves fill out and there is still a crisp in the air!

Definitely agree! Spring & Autumn are my favourites for similar reasons despite being opposite ends of seasonal spectrums 😁

I am very glad I found this channel! I can see the dedication that went into making this video and the hike itself. Brings me back to the two times I went hiking and camping in England (will be more, hopefully). Very flat compared to Norway, and very wet!

That’s lovely thank you so much! Happy you enjoyed it, and hope you get to do more hiking & camping in the UK, although Norway looks AMAZING I’m so jealous, I’ve never been! 😁

That you again for another great video. I like the way you make them. Most other vlogs you spend most the time looking up the left nostril of the person.❤

Haha thank you! Yeah I know what you mean, as much as I enjoy other content from other KZreadrs, I do find that sometimes we’re seeing their face more than the trail itself. I’m glad you enjoyed it 😁

That looked fun Jennifer 😊 Spring is my favourite time of year too, but I love frozen paths and bright sunshine and the dry spell we get daarn sarf. Completing the Eamont Way before the official opening was a great stunt 😂 (I hate virtue signalling politicos) Perhaps report that bridge slip hazard, so they can use anti-slip paint. I wonder if that was Hazel coppice ? ♥the stop motion effect of the clouds though the tent mesh Always lovely to see your vids! 🙏

Ahhhh......my Sunday night viewing is back 😊........Never heard of that Eamont way but it looked like a really pleasant trail if a little wet(''a little wet'' big understatement lol)........didnt seem to bother you. Love your narration on camera throughout, it gives the viewer an impression you are chatting to them personally 👌.......The campsite looked very clean and well equiped and pitching next to the table would help deflect wind and handy if the weather improved the next morning for breakfast.......just spent a fortnight in my 'happy place'' near Keswick(being doing that for the last 15yrs) so can relate to your joy at being back.....looking forward to next Sunday and part 2.......ATB.........Stu....👍👍
