The Ukrainian spymaster who Putin wants dead | Kyrylo Budanov | Stories of Our Times

Major-General Kyrylo Budanov is the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence. The 37-year-old has enjoyed a meteoric rise to become the country's youngest military intelligence chief. Russia believes that he is lying in a coma in Germany following a missile strike on his headquarters - but he’s actually alive and ready to take ‘direct action’ against his enemies.

37 drones hit Odessa and that’s fair play, but two drones hit Moscow and it’s a terrorist act? Somebody needs to explain “war” to Russia.

The west are too afraid of provoking Putin into using nukes, not just in Ukraine, but also NATO countries'! That's why for some of the weaponry the west is supplying to Ukraine. Ukraine has to promise not to use them on Russian pre 2014 territory! Must be frustrating for the Ukrainians, especially, once they get the F16's doing missions!

@@LisaNH934 You don't find it odd that there is not a single news story about Russian forces winning anything anywhere in western media. Everything 24/7 is about Putin "the devil" and Russia is losing. So if all that is true why is there still an ongoing war ? You know there's an old saying that says beware those who try to convince you too much of something there might be a reason. Obviously my question was redundant as all that's needed to convince you is to pitch a story to pull on your heartstrings and you buy in. Don't bother actually looking into who benefits the most from weapon sales or the history in Ukraine that led to the war. Just focus on what MSNBC tells you to focus on.

Budanov is the definition of badass, that’s why he’s the youngest spy chief it’s purely on merit. It’s always interesting hearing opinions on his view of Russia and what it will take to defeat Putin’s barbaric regime. Personally I think he’s right, even if the AFU pushed Russian armed forces to the Russian border today it wouldn’t stop Putin bombing and terrorising civilians because that’s all he’s got left to hold his regime together. Putin’s regime must be defeated, it’s more important than defeating his armed forces.

It's still pretty likely that they won't get back most of it because a majority of people in those regions are pro Russian just like Crimea. Believe it or not Russia is in a good position they're not advancing just defending. Ukraine floods in and loses many men and equipment in return may take one or two small unsubstantial villages as a reward. Meanwhile the West keeps pumping money at a wall or rather an iron curtain hoping it will break while Russia just sits back and weathers the storm... it's ridiculously unsustainable.

I'm no military expert, but it seems to me that a direct strike at Moscow by Ukraine, a la Prigozhin's example, could put an immediate end to this war. Using captured Russian vehicles and Russian uniforms, etc., it would be difficult for Moscow to know these were actually Ukrainians, and we've seen that their response would be minimal.
